Turtle Rock Studios? More like Turtle Rock Bottom with this game. The copper currency goes against the idea of CO-OP. It makes the players look out for themselves rather than a team. They can spend the copper on items/weapons they want which are affordable OR they could spend it on team upgrades when that costs about 4-5 times more than the items cost itself. Items like grenades, razor wires, and tool kits are more cost effective overall. The special "ridden" have "weak points" for you and and your team to fire at to take them down effectively. For example, the tall boys have their weak point on their arm. Sounds easy to hit right? Now take into account of 3-4 of them spawned at the same time and all 4 of them are charging at you while you got normal zombies rushing you as well. You will not be able to hit those weak spots unless you're dead accurate and when your character doesn't flinch as much when hit. Now imagine what I said and add the RNG chance of the corruption cards. For example, there is a card for you to reach to the end of the level as fast as possible. If not the game director will trigger a horde event after a set time has expired (generally 2-3 mins). This type of event will repeat itself til you reach the end of the level. So you can imagine 3-4 tallboys charging right at your team then the director triggers the horde event. The game makes you want to quit after 2 attempts on the level. Meanwhile after those 2 attempts on a specific level and you fail, you are forced to replay the entire act.

This what happens when the devs over hype the game. So many videos or trailers involving B4B always started with "From the creators of Left 4 Dead" or "spiritual successor to Left 4 Dead" which ended up with consumers comparing to the L4D games, only to be let down after buying the game. I'll admit TRS comes up with great ideas but they're awful in executing it. Evolve faced a very similar issue, prior to release it was over hyped. After a few weeks after release, consumers were let down by the tedious tasks they constantly perform to progress. B4B is the same thing, all acts contain the same tasks: destroy nests, collect the specimen boxes, rescue trapped survivors from a specific building, and etc. It doesn't help that B4B's game director is practically based on pure RNG which dictates your chances of success in a run. L4D made killing zombies simple and enjoyable while B4B just makes killing "the ridden" tedious and miserable. It's always the shoot the "weak spots" to take down the ridden quicker.
