I have mixed feelings about this game as the handling of most of the cars really make me dislike it. If there was an option in between a positive and negative review I would put it like that.

But onto the review now.

First things first, let's mention the car choices. There are so many to choose from and they are also separated into different racing disciplines, which is cool. My favourite is obviously Open Wheel cause I play F1 games as well, but I also like Endurance and Touring mainly.

Online is a good feature as not only do you race against your friends and other people but after the race you get rewarded for your performances even if it's a bad race. Love that feature a lot.

I also love the DLC options in this game, but later I'll talk about one particular one that almost screwed my profile.

They are my main positives.

Now the negatives:

The handling in this game in most cars is both understeery and oversteery despite having assists on. It really pisses me off when I bottle a really good lap in Racenet Challenge for example because of them. Touring and Tuner are particularly understeery cars, and open wheel are oversteery.

The fact you can make custom liveries for cars only for online mode. It's so disappointing that you can't race with your custom livery in single player mode cause you can be faster in it. But I still love designing cars.

The AI in this game are just terrible, they usually leave absolutely no space for you as they are unaware where you are on the track. When they brakecheck and therefore block me during a hotlap I rage so hard.

Sprint Pack DLC profile glitch. This is a weird one tbh. I love the Sprint Pack cause the tracks are really fun and enjoyable to race on. But unfortunately this DLC causes the save game profile to corrupt, my friend also had the same thing. Good thing that I was able to recover the profile after uninstalling it, which gave me a shock.


Overall this is an enjoyable and fun game but the handling and AI in particular makes me dislike it, so I have mixed feelings about it. Thanks for reading possibly my longest review on a game :)

F1 2016, in my opinion, is one of the best Codemasters game by far. It just never gets boring and I really enjoy playing it!!

Here is my review.


Handling. The handling really feels awesome on a pad and I feel no understeer unless my front wing is broken or I have dirty air from the car in front. I do have oversteer sometimes, but not very often as I can manage the throttle well. I like the handling, it's not as good as F1 2013's handling but it's a very good model. UPDATE: I still like the handling, but it's the Mercedes which is understeery, which then makes me angry about it

AI. They are really aggressive and they go for moves on you everywhere, I really like that as I can have a lot more exciting battles with them. They can sometimes cut you off and smash you but I don't deal with that at all. That's in single player anyway. I enjoy playing quick races and career with them, they are really fun to race with.

Career Mode. The career mode is really cool, I like the agent who gives me updates and contract offers, and rivalry updates. In general this is my most enjoyable career mode, with all the practice programs which give the team data and information heading into qualifying and the race. The paddock is awesome too, it is very realistic and my team members are walking and stuff like that. The unfortunate thing about my career is that Mercedes are still winning races 8 races into the season. UPDATE: After Malaysia, Ferrari are now the fastest team of my season!!!

New features. The new features (like the formation lap) are really enjoyable and when I heard that it was announced I was like "OMG this game is awesome!! Formation lap?! :O Manual starts?!". The manual starts are cool as you click your gearshift up button to hold the clutch and then release it. I really like that feature. The formation lap makes the races a lot more realistic, as it gives the feel of your car before the start of the race. I really wanted to manually control the car while lining up on the grid though, it would've made this feature better imo.

Graphics. The graphics are absolutely beautiful and it makes me feel like a real F1 driver. I take some awesome screenshots from races (as you've seen on my Steam activity if you're my friend), and they look really cool.

Online features. Overall I don't enjoy online but the new features are cool, especially when you pause the game and the AI drives for you and then you continue on. AWESOME!!! I keep my position and keep on driving!!! Spectator cam is very cool, you can switch between broadcast mode and onboard camera, and it's good to watch other people race from that.

Engineer. I like the engineer in this game, despite him not shutting the ♥♥♥♥ up. He is really detailed with information, like weather data, race data, position, cars behind or in front, championship status, etc. I also love the "Shut up Jeff" option cause it's funny XD

I am 173rd at Malaysia on this game, my best ever leaderboard position in a racing game, which is brilliant!! And in most of the tracks I am under 1000th, maybe even under 600th or 500th!!! I am very good at this game, which is my hardest game imo.

Now despite there being so many positives, there has to be negatives too.


No driver statistics. I can't believe there are no statistics available for online or career mode in this game, I like looking at them to see how well I've done in them. I've had 1 pole and 1 podium in career mode, and many many wins in quick races. And around 30-50 wins online. I can't tell exactly how many cause there are no stats available!

Online AI. The AI, despite their brilliance in single player, are actually terrible in online. Why is that? Because they always brakecheck you, cut you off, don't see you coming. It's possible to overtake them but it's really hard to avoid them doing this. I find it really annoying, especially when I'm fighting at the front.

Some bugs and glitches. The bugs and glitches in this game are annoying, there's not many but if there is one, then it's annoying. Some examples: illegal overtakes when you overtake spun cars, getting a warning for a cut when you have 2 wheels off the track, replay cam glitch where the game stays on a particular replay screen (I had that in career mode), glitch where AI have impossible times, etc.

Physics. The physics are not good, when you hit a wall lightly you spin wildly and it generally keeps going for another 5 seconds before you stop. Also when you touch the back of someone, you get pretty much connected to their car and you go off with them.


That concludes my review of F1 2016. Overall I really enjoy it and it's a great game, I don't have many things against it at all. I hope F1 2017 is equally as good. Have a nice day :)

Let's start this review of F1 2014.

I won't split into positives and negatives because I can't think of many things. Some features though include:

Career. It's ok, not the most realistic but it's really cool and has better features than F1 2013, with the choice of multiple season lengths which you get achievements for completing or winning in. If you're not much of a career player, go for the 7 race season. If you're a casual career player, go for the 12 race season. If you really like career, go for the full season and enjoy the experience :) I like it.

AI. They're fine imo, they are good to race with, but unfortunately they are really slow and scared to make moves on you. They are very cautious which makes races unenjoyable and not fun :( Compared to F1 2015 and 2016 they aren't good.

Handling. It can be good at times, but on a pad it's actual crap. It understeers a lot and I'm really slow at the game. 1:17 at Monaco for memory. Ridiculous. This game doesn't suit me much compared to 2013 or 2016.

Pad and wheel comparison. Now this is an interesting one, because the pad is faster as it has a built in traction control, so even if you turn it off, it's like a built in assist. Meanwhile on the wheel you can oversteer without TC and of course, better turn in. I don't really like it like that.

Funny gear sounds. When you shift down really fast into a wrong gear for a corner it makes the funniest rev sound like the engine is about to blow up XD. It's hilarious. I enjoy doing that, my friend did that on a video where he killed his engine so I tried it too :P

No changes compared to 2013. There are absolutely no changes in 2014 compared to 13 tbh, the only differences are that the car sounds are different, handling is way worse and the game music is different. Also career is too. It's only because they were trying to work on F1 2015 which wasn't a success either.

Overall F1 2014 is a decent game. But it has very little features which are different to 2013. I enjoy the game once I play it after a while.

Literally one of the best F1 games from Codemasters. The grip is awesome, the cars are awesome, the AI are good to race with, and I enjoy the game a lot! Online is the most fun in F1 2013 if you have a good player in the lobby.
