Deep rock galactic is not a game, it's a company

in short:
if looking to buy a game that is addictive and fun, DRG is the game for you. it has several fun missions that you can do with your friends and solo and still have a blast. more than enough customization for your character, guns, perks,... that gives you that unique feeling that all the other games are lacking. all and all you get more than what you've paid for! try it you won't be disappointed. now we get on with my thoughts on the game and overall review: these days I find it difficult to find games that you can really put your finger on and say "wow I didn't have this much fun in a long time" as the game industry has been growing with all these big titles and people (including me) are not getting excited over any game early but when I bought this game I've played it for over 50h in the first week. let me tell you how it went:




<GAMEPLAY>
missions are the main form of gameplay in DRG. There are currently seven mission types available to choose from. Each mission type has different objectives, generated cave systems will also vary based on the mission type. I've never said, "oh I prefer this mission" as they all have a fantastic gameplay to offer. aiming and shooting in DRG is not godlike but they are pretty up there you cant aim down sites like other games but won't notice it as this game has a run and gun feel to it and you burst your way through bugs with your custom gun and get the materials that you need from that cave. also, every class has a unique feel to it that I'll try to go over them briefly;

miner:
no one can shape terrain as you do and you are what's between your teammates and lots of valuables that buried or hidden.
gunner:
you have lots of firepower! and your teammates rely on you when a big storm of enemies approaches.
scout:
you are fast and quick with your grappling gun and you have to scout out the caves and tell your teammates where are the goods.
engineer:
you help your team with a lot of things from defending a point with your turrets or throwing a platform that scout can jump on and get the gems on the ceiling (I know engineer sound like a support class but it's not! with the perks and upgrades that you choose to pick for a mission, you can be what ever you want. that's what I mean destroying a class and building it from the ground up, of course, you can build a support class if you want but you can also have the biggest DPS in the team)
and when you've maxed out your favorite character there is a lot of end game content that keeps you going almost forever with special missions called "Deep Dive" and new events each week.

<sound>
first of all the music is amazing and I highly recommend paying a little extra for the soundtrack as I believe you won't be disappointed and the sound system in DRG is really remarkable. you can really see the personality in these short dwarfs when they talk and joke around; every interaction has its own dialogue and sound effect. and each cave and enemy has a unique sound effect. it's amazing how you enter a mission and hear a Pacific sound and say "uh I'm gonna fight that thing again" and believe me when I say you gonna hear "ROCK AND STONE" a lot...

<graphics>
graphics are nothing special but they give the game that unique look that it has. every biome has a feel to it and the lighting in the game is amazing as the caves are completely dark and you have to light up the caves yourself and see the materials you want. as for the materials that you want like gems and gold the game is really done a good job of separating them and making them easy to find and recognize.




all and all I believe you getting more than you're paying for even at full price. I know I'm like a Kpop fangirl for this game but it's not that way and I've been searching for games that give you those good feelings of the old days and this games really delivers, I've bought this game on his overwhelmingly positive rating and oh God I'm glad I did it. thank you for reading my review and I'll be glad if you give a rating as it's my first ever review on a game but DRG deserves it.
