I've spent more time, money, and sweat in this game than I've spent in anything else in my life.
It was not worth it, at all.
The friends you make in this game are all mentally ill degenerates.
The community has stockholm syndrome for it's terrible owners, 3 times now.
Every change of hands is an up and coming company, that is too inexperienced or politically correct to manage it.
And the only people who survive to stick around late game are the technologically inclined, which means you either know how to cheat, or know enough about them to spot them.
In APB it takes a lot of dedicated time to even get near spotting a discreet cheater, so much so that the current owners have been chasing Schrodinger's Cat, removing the bans of nearly every single person that gets banned by anything that does it automatically, because this game is so old and the skill ceiling has reached such heights that their tenure does not match the experience needed to recognize the facts.
They are showing signs of being in the hole with this title, and have been for a long time.
They run the community like an authoritarian regime, and make decisions with very little warning or explanation.
Recently they shut down a server that served half the US, the more populated half of Canada, and all of South America, with zero announcement or prep towards the community.
They ban anyone that says anything that goes too far into criticizing their behaviors, and can't even afford to pay their development team to the point they have their CEO playing codemonkey.
Don't play it, it's crashing and burning anyways, and I'm done upholding it.
