edit: kinda playable now but queue times suck and i mostly play with the same people. might be due to my isp, wish networking was easier in this day and age..

unable to play the game properly (at all) due to a region locked matchmaking system. can't queue into people from europe even though I get 0F-1F matches with them (<80ms ping). all i can do is practice in training and queue into basically no one, until matchmaking cancels itself. using a vpn, i can find a match in 10 seconds at max, but would rather not use a vpn for latency issues. capcom gave this game such good netcode but it's unfortunately wasted.

capcom, please fix.

though i hate the genre, apex is by far the best game out of the br genre, though it has audio and server issues, 20 tickrate etc. for some reason allows controllers with 0.6 aim asssist to play with kbm players. even in pro play, and no one says anything about it. absolute joke. competitive/casual gameplay is really fun because of movement techs and such, lots of things to do/outplay potential. gunplay is top notch with weapons having different characteristics, which helps a lot. though respawn keeps adding weapons that work well for controllers (nemesis, prowler etc.), which makes the game heavily unbalanced. we're out here aim training, min maxing our mouse/mousepad/skates setup, mfs on controller flick their stick half a cm and one clip you from any range and post their clips online =)

pro play is imo, both boring to play, and to watch. people avoiding gunfights until the last circle where there are 10 teams trying to avoid fighting til the end. whoever somehow comes on top wins. since they actually treat the game as a br in pro play, you don't really see flashy movement plays and such. it's just a game of chess.

too much rng factor on loot, you may only find a p2020 (sometimes even not), and your opponent has a purple shield with a turbocharged havoc in like 15 seconds. some legends are literally made to camp buildings, in turn helping the casual audience to play pubg, score some kills and feel good. the game has enough players where if they seperate c*ntroller and kbm players, it wouldn't change the queue times much. that's it.

again, it is the best game out of the br genre. however, i can't recommend it to anyone in its current state.

tldr; casuals ruin everything

MY CURRENT THOUGHTS
♥♥♥♥ respawn for not seperating inputs, AND giving controller players effortless top tier aim they couldn't achieve if they trained for years. 95% of controller players have the same aim, what differs them from each other is just gamesense, might as well play chess at that point. this game's main difference than other fpses is that it's fast paced, that aiming is hard. though that doesnt matter since 50% of the playerbase have the same aim. i love having to fight through hordes of mindless drones with aim assists and try to perform at my best while they just flick their thumbs around and track you perfectly through explosions and random ass vfx. audio ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sucks 5 years after release. 20 tickrate servers causing you to get one clipped behind cover. ♥♥♥♥ map design causing you to get 5th partied, which even if you win against the first two/three squads, the game doesn't reward you enough to win against the next 3rd party. seperate the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ queues and fix the game.

if you're a kbm player, i suggest you do not put effort into getting better as ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ normie casuals will perform at the same level, if not better without even trying just by playing on controller.

Launched as a B2P, one time payment game under Gamigo. Later had paid DLC. Now Kakao is the distributor and they turned the payment type to monthly subscription. I had high hopes for the B2P version as the F2P version went full on pay to win. However Unchained failed as it became a mindless gear score grind with boring dailies and weeklies. This game was supposed to be a sandbox MMO where you could do anything you wanted, and yet it became a horse race where you needed to grind your gear score nonstop or you were irrelevant. Not even mentioning the gold exploits and gold buyers in this stage of the game. The original ArcheAge in beta still is the best MMO experience I've ever had. ArcheAge had insane potential but it couldn't realize it in its lifetime of 8 years...
