This game is the music video you have in your head made real.

Despite being a rhythm game, it's incredibly friendly to those that may not keep the beat as well. Rather than punish you for being off rhythm, it rewards you for being on rhythm. And it does everything it can to keep you on the beat. From the distinct music to the pulsing UI and environment to the toggleable rhythm assist bar. It wants you to get in the zone and stay there.

Naturally for a rhythm game, the music is vital, and the song choices are phenomenal. Each track is perfectly suited for the level and keeps you pumped and keeping time while you fight. Even the Streamer-Friendly replacement songs are still faithful and just as good if not arguably better than the original.

While the characters and story aren't deep, they don't need to be. They're still interesting, charming, funny, and over the top like a Saturday Morning Cartoon. It knows exactly what it wants to be, and it goes all the way with it, which leads to some genuinely funny moments.

There is so much polish and detail put into this game that I can't even get it all out off the top of my head. The transitions from the game engine to animated cutscenes are beautifully done, the way the music transitions in and out of combat, a detrimental upgrade just to test if you're reading descriptions. And there's just of extra dialogue that's there because the devs thought of it in advance, skipping tutorials, saving and quitting before an important moment, smacking NPCs around, it's amazing how much there is for things you might skip over.

It's a wonderful, hilarious, rocking game, and I loved every second I spent getting 100% completion.

Like most roguelikes, the satisfaction of getting an overpowered loadout that carries you to the final boss is something that will last for a while. But now it's with a sick rock soundtrack.

It's easy to get into the rhythm and get used to the shooting and reload patterns, so the challenge lies in getting to the end and figuring out the enemy patterns of each level.

Also the bird is cute.

One of the most addictive rhythm games out there.
