Game closes as soon as I hit play in the launcher and I get an error message when I try to run the exe. I learned that it isn't compatable with anything above windows vista. It's ridiculous because Fallout: New Vegas runs just fine and they're on the same exact engine and use the same exact assets and mechanics and everything. Why does that work but not this? I even tried a bunch of different "fixes" but none of them worked. It's the exact same outcome every time. I love Fallout 3 and I really miss being able to play it. I'm glad I bought this on Steam while it was on sale, even though I am currently trying to refund it. I'm honestly really bummed out about this. I miss this game... ;n;

Whether you're looking to make new friends or just want to have a laugh, VRChat is so much fun to play. Best of all, you don't even need a VR headset to play! :D

I had some difficulty playing this game because it was very confusing for me. However, I can definitely see why people would like this. If you like games that use several tactics-based gameplay mechanics, than I'd say check this one out. Thinking about it now, this game kinda reminds me of some of the Metal Gear Solid games, so if you're into that then you will probably like this game too.

This is the third time I've rewritten this review because the more I play it the more I learn about the game and the more my opinion changes. This is going to be a long one so bear with me.

When I was a 6-year-old kid I always wanted to play my older brother's video games. However, he'd say “No” every time. One day I saw my mother playing a game on her computer. Again I jumped at the opportunity and asked “Can I play?” This time the answer was yes, and my mother sat me in her chair and showed me the game. That game was the original Doom from 1993. I'm still surprised that my mother plays Doom; she even knows the cheat codes. To this very day, I'm still play Doom I and II. I've put over 3000 hours playing the original games, fan-made levels, and I even started making my own levels with Doom Builder 2. Doom has been very influential on my life and my work as an artist/writer. If it wasn't for doom I wouldn't be the man I am today. When I heard about Doom 3 I was excited, of course, but the game was a little disappointing. Don't get me wrong, I still like Doom 3, was pretty good for what it was, but... it wasn't Doom.

That said, when I first saw the teaser trailer for Doom 4 I still got excited, but this time I was more skeptical about the game. Every new piece of footage, from trailers to gameplay, old questions were answered and new ones came up. In the end I did end up pre-ordering the game. At first my PC couldn't run it very well, but after awhile of tinkering with the settings, I found a good balance between the graphics quality and resolution size to where I get a healthy 30-50fps without the game looking flat out terrible. Soon after, I discovered there was a driver update for NVIDIA; now I can run at high settings without compromising the frame rate.

Pros:
  • Combat feels a lot faster than the original games
  • Most levels are loaded with secrets
  • Boss fights are challenging, but not to where you feel under powered (Bosses have multiple attacks and there are different ways to avoid them)
  • Monsters from the original game are beautifully redesigned
  • You can use the scroll wheel or number keys to switch weapons if you don't like the weapon wheel
  • Enemy behavior is more diverse (Revenants can fly, Cyber-Mancubi can make acid pools, etc.)
  • Game includes new weapons, enemies and power-ups, but very few
  • You don't loose upgrades or collectibles if you are killed
  • SnapMap, although limited, has great potential in terms of “programming”

Cons:
  • Level design gets a little stale in the last quarter of the game (Arena rooms start to look similar to each other)
  • Snap map is pretty restricted when it comes to level design
  • Game crashes without warning occasionally
  • Dev-Mode bug (game thinks you enabled cheats) forces you to delete all your save files in order to get achievements and play online (this happened to me once on the second level, but not since then)
  • Currently, there is no mod support (SnapMap is okay, but it doesn't scratch that itch that modders have)
  • You leap forward whenever you melee an enemy, but you can still miss (sometimes resulting in getting smacked in the head)

Personal likes:
  • Lost Souls explode on impact, making them less annoying
  • You can replay any mission you've completed and still have all your weapons and upgrades
  • Despite their flaws, I still enjoy the multiplayer and SnapMap
  • The gameplay and combat
  • The weapon mod system/upgrades give me a sense of progression
  • Doomguy's “I don't care” attitude towards the other characters
  • Those Doomguy toys that unlock monster and weapon models
  • The silly little easter eggs that add a bit of humor to this hardcore gore-fest of a game
  • The game is filled with (optional) lore that doesn't distract from the gameplay
  • The Hell Knight is no longer just a palette swap of the Baron of Hell

Personal dislikes:
  • Arch-Viles are now called “Summoners” despite obviously being Arch-Viles
  • The Rune Trials are way to hard (probably because I'm bad at time trials)
  • I fall to my death more times than getting killed by demons during the "Argent Tower" level
  • Guys with shields... they are a pain in the ass sometimes

In conclusion, I love this game. It has been WAY too long since I've played a game like this. I think that the FPS genre is over-saturated with tactical shooters and we need more games in this “run-and-gun” style. This game may have flaws, but the pros definitely out weigh the cons. Since this game is pretty new, I'm sure there will be a patch or two to fix the game's bugs. I'm glad I pre-ordered this, but if you haven't gotten this game yet then you may want to hold off for awhile until the game-breaking bugs are sorted out. However, if you have the same mentality as Doomguy (you don't care and just want to kill demons), then go ahead and buy it.

My rating for DOOM(2016): 8.5/10

Why should you buy this game? Because its one of the VERY few games that makes killing only one guy in the whole round so rewarding. The combat is so realistic it only takes 1 or 2 bullets to kill you, making killing someone else before they kill you feel FANTASTIC. Also, WWI games are pretty rare too, its always WWII or "Modern warfare" or space with most of the big AAA deathmatch games, so seeing a WWI game of such high quality is definitely an eye catcher. While the main gameplay mode can be confusing sometimes, Verdun also comes with other, more standard, game modes such as team deathmatch and free-for-all (and now a new co-op mode).

If i had to rate this game, I'd give it an 8.75/10 for best Multipayer war game.

Also, dont forget what button your gas mask is bound to. Trust me, I've made that mistake before, and the result was... unpleasant...

Yes, there is no karma system anymore... But that doesn't stop me from raiding settlements. >:)
In fact, raiding settlements is much more rewarding than in the previous games.

Hello, my name is Skully. Want to be a good raider like me? I'll teach you with this easy 9-step guide! (See below)

Skully's guide on how to be a successful Raider in Fallout 4:
1. Kill some other raiders and take their stuff
2. Prepare yourself and your companions with your new(ish) raiding equipment
3. Find a good target (Preferably one with a chem station)
4. Go in guns blazing and KILL EVERYONE*
5. Take whatever you want
6. Make room for your raider buddies by planting a few sofas around the cooking fire (Your companions must be in Raider gear AT ALL TIMES)
7. Decorate the place with the bodies of the settlers (Bloody mess perk recommended)
8. Kick back, relax, and get high with your raider buddies
9. Repeat until you are ready to take on bigger targets (Diamond city, BoS, etc.)

I hope this guide to raiding helps and your raids are as successful as mine! Now get out there and KILL somebody!

*If you get yourself killed during step #4, don't worry about it. Raiders get killed all the time, it comes with the territory.
