Premise and execution interesting enough (basically a combo of FTL and classic old Descent but in mostly open space), most likely worth getting at discount if you like either of the inspiration sources.

One small disappointment though, in actual combat, evasion seems to be the trump card (so I guess later on the only ship worth flying will just be the most agile one), and with the enemy quickly adapting to your new heading (but not trying to predict any future changes), the winning strategy seems to be just corkscrewing a lot... and that's about it so far.
Granted, I haven't played enough to be sure, might revise review later if anything changes.

Surprisingly not very kid-unfriendly for a gangster shooter.

Easy enough for my 5 year old kid to enjoy.
Great for a basement-bargain price during sales, especially now that newer versions are out.

Old gem, looks decent enough even by today's standards (especially after the facelift), slow start but increasingly great after a few missions.

Cons: one annoyng stealth mission
Pros: everything else

Do not even try to play this without a controller (which I don't have).

For today, a bit dated and a bit formulaic, but fairly entertaining.
Get it if it hits a deep discount (like I recently did).
Noteworthy that I played one full "rookie" playthrough, unlocked veteran, and was pleasantly surprised by the significantly different start on the veteran playthrough
(didn't have the time to play much afterwards though, so no idea if it keeps it up or not).
