God Eater Resurrection was my first taste into the God Eater franchise. I saw a sale for God Eater 2: Rage Burst + Resurrection for about $17 and thought "Sure, this game seems enjoyable." Boy, was I underestimating it.

A lot of people would say Resurrection is repetitive; and it is very repetitive. It pretty much sets this line where you have your story progression mission and about 8+ other missions you can do to build up your materials, AP to improve your companions abilities, and generally practice memorizing attack patterns. You will fight the same monster types over and over and over again. Sometimes multiple at the same time. This isn't necessarily a bad thing because the fighting mechanics are actually pretty great.

You have 6 melee weapon types, (Short Blade, Long Blade, Buster Blade, Boost Hammer, Charge Spear, and Variant Scythe) 4 gun types (Sniper Gun, Assault Gun, Blast Gun, and Shotgun) and 3 shield types. (Buckler, Shield, and Tower Shield) Each with their own style, moveset, and such. So there is a large amount of variation in equipment that can really stand out by itself.

Aside from just equipment, battling Aragami can be pretty challenging even if you fought it 100 times. All it takes is one slip up to become knocked out. To help with that, you're mostly going to be playing the game with a full party. Even then some fights can be really nasty and just clean sweep your team if you're not prepared. You will have to create this pattern in your head to refill on all your healing items before you go into battle. Many times have I went into a tough fight with only a few items in my inventory. Not fun and can be really stressful.

The game is slow paced. For me to finish my first playthrough, it took me about 60hours. It wants you to grind a lot to upgrade your equipment as soon as you can. Not becuase it's going to make your equpment super powerful, but becuase you're going to need weapons of different elements. This causes you to juggle equipment during the entire game depending on what you're going to be fighting. It can be annoying if you just want one weapon from start to finish, but it just makes the game more realistic in terms of match-ups.

You are timed on every mission, but they are pretty generous. 30mins to kill one or two primary Aragami is usually the normal types of missions.

The maps can get old super fast. All the maps are just one big circle. You have maybe 10 or less maps in the entire game and all of which are just this large zone with corridors leading to another room. There are items you can find in the same areas of each map which makes it easier to memorize where all the item spots are at. They are also the spots the Aragami feed at as well. So somtimes they have guards so to say.

The story itself is pretty good. You almost get a cutscene from every story mission you finish which really adds up on cinimatic time in the long run. The story is filled with ambition, drama, a bit of a political thriller, and generally interesting. It's not high budget cinimatics though. It's pretty much just moving the models with basic repeating animations on the same in-game models. Sometimes their face is emotionless in intense scenes and just has this basic feeling to it. The voices are pretty tolerable although the entire game is English Dubbed with no in-game method to getting the Japanese voices as far as I know. The only negative thing I can say about the voices is your created character's voice. I've played two characters and each one has these pieces of dialogue where you can just tell the voice actor's mic peaked and added this muffled flat sound. Kinda breaks immersion a bit, but at least it's not every piece of dialogue.

Overall I would have to say I am very pleased with what I bought. It's a monster hunting game on PC is what most people would say and I would half agree. It has a lot of simmiliarities, but there are also a lot of differences that really makes God Eater stand out from Monster Hunter. If you enjoying games like Monster Hunter, but also looking for something more unique and crafted in an anime based style, this is your best bet.

For the price I payed, it was more than worth it. Resurrection alone I would pay $25.

Maplestory is like every MMO, constantly changing. A lot of people will say that it's not what it used to be, and they are correct, but that does not mean it's bad.

In Maplestory you have a pretty large selection of classes to play from (some do get removed and some do come back) such as your basic Warrior to this master magician who controls Light and Dark energies. Many choices to choose from if you like variety. You do have a limit to how manny you can have, but it's enough if you're the average player.

Others may say you will spend a ton of money in Maplestory to become great which is only half true. Maplestory features servers that are nearly void of Play to Win features. You don't get the super cool special shop items, but everyone is on the same level when it comes to getting things in that server. You just have to know how to get it. With the constant events that also goes on, it's not hard at all to look flashy if you put the time in.

The battle system is pretty simple, but as most people know, it has these numbers filling the screen which is why I enjoy it so much. It's eye candy for me. Also knowing I can change the skins of it is also more up my ally.

The max level you can get for most clases is 250 which is pretty steepand will take time, but with how wide the Maplestory world is, you will reach level 100 in no time flat if you don't get lost like me in your first character.

But like all MMOs, it does break from time to time. What MMO doesn't? The staff for Maplestory has been very helpful in my experience in which they will move your character from broken parts of the game so you can get your goodies. Good customer service is probably the biggest factor if a game like this is good or bad, in my opinion.

You will start to see repetition though. Some questions do require you to kill 999 of an enemy type which honestly isn't as bad as ou would think when you have attacks that fill the screen. The story itself isn't great. Plotholes everywhere, everything is out of chronological sync, it's just a mess. The game more or less focuses on side stories opposed from it's main stories which I guess is okay if you don't pay attention or read any of it.

There are a lot of bots and people who go around and just steal kills, for whatever reason and that's prett annoying when you want to farm xp to finish a quest or manage to beat a boss.

Overall Maplestory is a colorful game that has a large customizable and potiental heavy features. A lot of it is mid to long game, but getting there is pretty unique with all the characters and people you meet. If you can get by it's history, player base, and generally the issues with every MMO, you will see why it's one of the better games out there.

You become the president of the United States by basically saving the world in amazing fashion, then things go to hell from an Alien invasion. You get captured, you escape, and now you're pissed off and want revenge. To get your revenge you must battle armies of aliens and simulated furries, gimps and prostitutes. Using your arsenal of destructive and generally weird weapons, you attempt to take control of the simulation holding all your homies captive and use it to fight back against the alien leader, Zinyak. (He has an amazing singing voice by the way.)

The game has this feature that you will kill hours on, and that feature is collecting these clusters. I know I killed half my game time doing it. Giving you the abilities to basically become Flash, makes it all more the fun. Fight a horde of aliens by only running as fast as you can and melee attacking them. Who needs guns?

But you fight much more than just "aliens." You Fight alien prisoners which you steal power from, you fight people from the past, you even fight yourself.

The game is basically what someone with ADHD would love just becuase of the amount of silly and goofy things you can do while progressing through the game. Until you beat the game and then everything gets kinda boring. It's a game where you will only keep a save until you beat it. Then you just trash it becuase you did everything. Until that moment however, it's a wild ride from start to finish.

Hyperdimension Neptunia U is definitly one of those games where prefrence is a big deal. For me, it just wasn't for me.

First thing I noticed when I first picked it up was the ENG audio. Luckily there is a ♥♥♥ audio selection in the options menu as well as subtitles. The downside with this is that not everything is subbed. There were several sections in the game where you just had characters speak without subtitles. To me that's a bit annoying, but not a major complaint since their voices are all pretty great.

The battle system feels very repetitive and quite boring actually. You can pretty much grab a character, find one combo that doesn't have a huge idle time afterwards and just repeat. Of course this doesn't work for every stage, but I found this doable through most of it. The character interactions between the characters are great until about hour 8 where you're getting repeats every 20secs or so since it will take almost no time at all to get decent at this game. The real challenges don't come in until after the main story. That's when things get more intense, but even then there is just so little there.

The story itself isn't very memorable, but it is actually one of the things I like most about the game. It's cute, it's actually written very well, and the small talk between the major events at time are great. There are several refrences to games that came out around U's first release date and boy are they great little refrences. I honestly think this game would have done better as novel compared to a Hack n Slash genre based game.

I could go on to pick small things here and there, but here is my overall opinion.

It's a great game for Neptunia fans, but not a great game for Hack n Slash fanatics. I would not recommend this unless they were a Neptune fan.

I got this game when it was on sale for about $5 and I would say I would max at $10 for this. So unless you really want it, don't pay it's current price. If I paid that much for this I would be a bit upset.

I heard a lot about Borderlands before I started playing, and it was generally "It's an okay game. The second one is much better though." Hearing that kinda lowered my expectations a lot until I actually jumped in head deep. I saw a lot goin on in my hours of playing the main story. Good and Bad alike. I will name off some noticable things that I saw in my first playthrough.

1. The looks of the game is a bit rustic which isn't too bad. In my opinion it just means it will play better on lower end PCs which is always a plus for me. I did feel like overtime, my eyes strained a bit more through on Borderlands than most games. I believe it's just the outlining of just about everything in the game stabbing my eyes when you flick your camera around. Nothing too serious.

2. The humor is on point. What I think Borderlands does well that a lot of other games don't do is bring a strong sense of silly and goofy humor and make it work. Some of it is a bit of a cliche, but it's placed where it isn't an issue and it's still enjoyable. My favorite moments are the little sub-text when you enter a boss fight.

3. MMO based questing. One of the things I noticed right away in the first hour was the questing mechanics. Oh boy does it bring me back to MMOs where it's go to Point A to B and getting mote text than voice. Don't get the wrong idea though. The amount of things between A and B is quite significant. I spent a good 20mins on one piece of a quest becuase I enjoyed just shooting people from the top of a building. So, in my opinion, the questing systems can be off putting if you hate read-a-longs when it comes to stories. As for me, I didn't mind it too much since the text was a bit humerous.

4. Difficulty. This game can be quite difficult on your first run in the beginning half. Im not sure if I am just terrible, but I did find myself getting pinned a lot waiting for my shield to regen in the early half before I started overleveling myself.

5. The DLC. I won't spoil anything so don't worry, but I will say that the DLC really makes this game complete. The base game in my opinion was "okay" however the DLC really made me love this game. I won't go into details, but get the DLC. If you can only get one, get Dr Ned's Zombie Island. That one is the one I felt really gave me a challenge without overdoing it. Plus it has the best refrence I have seen in a god awful long time that made me estatic.

I may have missed some crucial points here and there and may even drabbled on a bit, but overall, I think Borderlands is a great game due to it's unique humor and how it takes itself. It doesn't really focus on a great story or amazing visuals. What it really does well is what most games should do and that is focus on fun. Out of all the things I can say, Borderlands was fun.
