Ill get this out of the way, the game is poorly optimised and does contain bugs.

HOWEVER::
This is truly a one-of-a-kind game, in terms of its depth and the freedom you're awarded in relation to decisions, laws, alliances, wars, etc. Literally almost any decision you could imagine making as a Head of State, you can do in this game.

In my opinion, the price is unjustified, but I don't know what margins Eversim (the developer) operate on.

If this is the first time you're purchasing a geo-political simulator game by Eversim, purchase the latest edition (2021, 2022, etc., whatever year is latest upon reading this review), and stick to it for a while.
Don't rush to purchase the next year, the changes are often negligible or features you'd hardly notice or utilise, especially as a new player; wait a few years.

All in all, great game, poorly optimised, but none other like it.
Don't be surprised if you spend thousands of hours on these games.
I've easily spent over 2000 hrs over different editions and predecessors, both online and offline.

HINT:
Industry and Energy, give them some love.

Honestly one of the greatest games! Yes despite some gradually lacking graphics compared to other games these years, for a game of its time, its still one of the most immensive and adrenaline rushing games I've ever played.
