Since the Rick Cube portrait is only available through this pack, and this pack is 20% off of the other DLCs, technically paradox is paying you 20% the cost of the other DLC items to use the Rick Cube portrait.

edit: Works with either tale of two wastelands or natively now.

Good game, doesn't work on modern PCs. If a tale of two wastelands ever gets going, use that to play this game under New Vegas' engine.

I could never get a handle on the eras, myself. I prefer Tropico 4.

Easily one of my favorite video games. Fallout New Vegas has hundreds of hours of entertainment spread throughout many differant playthroughs, play styles, and unique character ideas. If you still need convincing that you should pick it up, you either haven't read the other reviews or you don't like RPGs and should stop reading reviews for a game you know you wouldn't like.

Most of these negative reviews are from people who didn't like the DLC. If you have Fallout 4, want the DLC, and can get this for 30 dollars (like you can right now) it's well worth it. Most people seem to be upset they didn't get everything they wanted, and are giving negative reviews because of that rather than judging the value of this product for what it is.

How have I not given this game a positive review yet?

Its a fun 4x game about rebuilding after a zombie apocalypse. Its a little lite with some of the factions, and the story doesn't work perfectly with dealing with factions after you wiped them out, but the game is great and some minor issues can be easily overlooked for a very fun experience. More than worth the 15 dollar price tag!

Do you like Obsidian RPGs? Do you enjoy philosophy, and want to explore what it truely means to be a sith or a jedi? If you answered yes to either, buy this game. Also install the restored content mod. This is probably my favoite game ever, it just got an overhaul, and the restroed content mod is easier to download than ever. I would probably pay 20 bucks for this game, and right now you could pick it up for 7.49 (10 dollars normally). Well worth the price.

This game asked me to review it, so I figured why not? It won't be in-depth, and it won't say anything new, I'm sure, but a drop in the bucket on the positive side literally can't hurt. I love 4x stratagy games, and the galactic civilization franchize has always bee one of the best in my oppinion, the third installment being no exception. If you liked Gal Civ II, and can stand a hex grid, I would reccomend picking the game up. If you liked Civ V after the expansions, I would reccomend picking this game up. If you said once in passing you thought about maybe playing a 4x game sometime before you died, I would reccomend picking this game up. In short, pick this game up and enjoy! :)

I was enjoying this game very much untill a bug prevented me from being able to progress further, wiping all of my progress up to that point. I will happily change this to a positive review when such things are fixxed. As it stands, do not buy this game unless you don't mind hours of progress turning to nothing because of some error.

I'm sure this is the same situation Civ V was in. The game in vanilla is not very good when compaired to other civilization (or even just other 4x) games. You don't really get to pick which affinity you go for if you want to play on a high dificulty because you HAVE to go for the resources you have access to. At that, all of the civilizations and affinities are pretty dystopic. I am certain that once the expansions are released this will shine just like Civ V with BNW, but untill that day do not buy this game. Not even with a sale going on, unless you want to play it once for a moderate amount of fun then shelve it for a year.

Edit due to announcement of Starship: It seems like there aren't going to be any expansions due to this new game coming out, making Beyond Earth a glorified trailer. I am surprized at Firaxis for this. Unless things change, buy this game under no circumstances.

Edit years later after looking into what became of Sid Meier's Starships: So, starships was a small game that did nothing but share a universe with beyond earth. This game is still bad inherently and was never properly expanded upon. Still never buy it.
