This has got to be one of the best story driven games I've played in a long time. The atmosphere in this game is amazing. Shenmue I has you looking around for clues on the whereabouts of who murdered Ryo's father, Lan Di, all the while participating in downtime with arcade games (my personal favorite being a Sega classic, Hang On!), opening gacha capsules, and practicing your jujitsu. The game features a clock ingame, which was extremely ambitious for the time, with certain events happening at certain times. One of the most exhilarating moments is the buildup to a Free Battle. Earth and Sea is an amazing battle theme that honestly I never got bored of.

In Shenmue II, you continue your search for Lan Di. Something you will notice right away is that combat is much faster and less clunky than the original, and the transition at first might be a little hard. This game will also reward you for your ability to perform QTE (Quicktime events), and if you fail, you will suffer the consequences. This can range from doing the QTE again, or having to search for more clues to progress the story, unlike in the first game, having to just redo the QTE. This game now has maps, at the cost of your money; you can purchase them in most areas.

I am very excited for Shenmue III, however Epic has taken ahold of the exclusivity deal, so I will wait until it comes out on Steam until I make my purchase. I highly recommend this game if you are into story-driven games.

It's a lot of what you call "easy fun". It is a lot less difficult than the others in the franchise, catering to a broader demographic; doesn't mean it's boring. It's a lot of fun with friends, and a difficulty curve does exist. I can't wait for Iceborne.

Still worth with Iceborne coming out soon.

Also, the game keeps crashing on the first mission.
We're off to a great start. Was looking super forward to this too. Hopefully it gets fixed, as I do want to play this game.

Edit; The game is now down due to emergency maintenance. That's a really bad sign. I did have my expectations low, as it is Early Access.

Oh, you won't miss this. PvP stunlock, PvM timers, a mediocre story that is filled with trashy anime tropes, a (((linear?))) story that still leaves me confused, oh and let's not forget the pay-to-win rebirth tickets to redistribute your stats for PvM/PvP. Oh, nerf archers? Nah, let's have some CUTE STOCKING COSMETICS FOR YOUR CHARACTER! UWU!

It's pretty good.

After finishing the game, I can say this game is a roadtrip itself. With it's fair share of bumps in the road, however.

The game is gorgeous. I felt immersed in it's gameplay. The story itself is the fun you had. Of course, there are some potholes in this story, but I can get over it. The sidequests felt more like being an errand boy rather than learning and enjoying the sidequest experience. The ending was sad. I didn't have the sense of satisfaction. It left me wanting a happy ending, especially through the ordeal that was the main story. It was disappointing, but the ending did manage to make me have the case of the feels. I was hoping that it wasn't it all throughout the credits.

I run this game on a high end system, and there was still stutters. I based my entire rig on this game, actually... I had it also cranked up to the highest settings with NVIDIA settings off as it was just dragging performance down. The stutters could've been the fact my entire game is on a HDD, but it's not like I'd see any good changes in performance with an SSD... right?

This game is a masterpiece in my book despite all the potholes in this game, that is, if you're willing to go around them.
Too bad the director left the company and left a massive roadblock in the way with plotholes the remaining episodes had (Luna, Noctis, etc), alongside the future of the Final Fantasy series.
