This is clearly a love letter to fans of classic games like Everquest and WoW.

It really hits that nostalgia hard, and is a great option for those of us in our middle ages who no longer have time to keep up with groups and guilds in modern MMORPG's.

Can't wait to see what this single developer does with this game, the demo itself is better then many games I've bought. Looking forward to the full release.

This is a hidden gem.

Simple rpg rules that seem like a tabletop game. Easy to understand, but some deep customization is possible.

I'm addicted.

This game is so good, dropped 24 hours into it in one day.

I know the dev says this game is not about combat and it's city builder focused. The combat is so satisfying though, I hope he leans into that and continues to add features to the combat.

No complaints, just looking forward to seeing whats added in the next few months. Great work!!

This game is way better then it has any right to be, one developer should not be able to achieve this haha

if you liked Freelancer and X3, you'll love this game. It's basically a much more accessible X3, with the addition of ground combat, and actual sector conquering. Haven't played around with the trading system yet, I'm looking forward to seeing how that works.

Naturally it could use more polish and building out, which this latest 3.0 update may have done (I just fired it up). It's graphics are not AAA quality (obviously), but the art style is really good (I wish X4 had gone this direction of art style).

TLDR; really happy I bought this and expect to sink thousands of hours into it.

A lot of games on steam feel like student projects and aren't. This game is a student project and feels like a solid early access title.

I'd spend $10 on this game now, and not feel ripped off. Would be happy to spend $20 on release.

I really hope this team stays together after school and continues to make games in this genre, we need games like this from young developers.

*Updating this review after Primal Calling and Lost Valley DLC's*

As I had hoped, they are continuing to add in content both paid and unpaid after release. I just started the Lost Valley campaign and am really enjoying it. Keep adding campaigns and content and I'll buy every DLC you make.

A lot of my wishes have been implemented; like sorcerers, druids, campaigns that need a solid thief, locations that repopulate with new enemies and new quests, dungeon master tools, and multiplayer.

They really are ticking off all the bullet points with this game.

This is now solidly out of early access and will be enjoyable to anyone who enjoys CRPG's.

Keep up the good work Solasta Team, I'm absolutely loving what your doing.

I very rarely review games, however this game is special. It's one of the few games that I finished and almost immediately wanted to roll new characters and play it again.

It definitely has the feel of a true Dungeons and Dragons experience, can't wait to see what they do in the future with this game.

The voice acting is actually quite good, and somehow they manage to make your characters feel alive and unique in the cinematics.

The story, although not particularly unique, is quite good and manages to make even the low levels your at feel epic and meaningful. I am looking forward to seeing where this story goes. I think the lack of uniqueness is actually a benefit, as this really feel's like a competently written PnP D&D module or homebrew adventure. Not every storyline needs to be the next great classic novel.

The campaign world is quite good, and I can't wait to learn more about it. I am really disappointed I missed the chance to buy the sourcebook during its crowdfunding campaign. If anyone happens to not want their sourcebook, let me know, I'll buy it off you haha (I'm not kidding).

It has a crafting system I actually like, which is rare in games, the crafting is done over the time your characters rest or travel which feel's very Pen and Paper D&D. It appears they are planning to add in smithing as well (noticed a tool listed while rolling a new character, along with a couple other neat tools that I won't spoil for people).

It is an early access experience, plenty of bugs and things that just don't work yet, however that does not reduce the fun. They also need to add in better explanations on what spell's or magic items actually do, hopefully this is planned and just not yet implemented. [Edit] Seems they added those explanations between the time I first played and now (damn they are quick).

This game, may indeed knock Neverwinter Nights off the top of my favorite CRPG game list, with just a few additions;

- Add a dungeon master client, and or a campaign editor.

- Give a little more love to the thief class: Caltrops, traps that you can use, more secret doors and levels designed to give a bonus to having a thief in your party, grappling hooks so a thief can get to places other classes have difficulty, a real need for pick pocketing and other deviousness, campaigns or side missions specifically designed for the thief class, etc.

- Druids, Sorcerers, and Bards definitely want these classes.

- Option for larger parties. So many good options for characters that 4 slots just doesn't cover all the classes you want in your party. Or possibly an option where you can swap out characters mid campaign, and train them up on side missions or through random encounters on the world map.

- Locations that repopulate with enemies and loot so you can go back and run those levels again.

Many of these ideas are things that I'd be fine if they added in DLC's later, I suspect they already have plans for a lot of features I will love.

I would highly recommend you buy this, and play it. or if you don't like early access games, then just give them your money and play the game later when it's done haha

Excellent modernization of Total Annihiliation, granted I'd still rather play Total Annihilation with it's thousands of units and maps, however if you absolutely must have somewhat updated graphics, UI, and very limited maps, this game will satisfy.

I'd highly recommend installing the Supreme Commander 2 0 1 3 mod; http://www.moddb.com/mods/supreme-commander-2-0-1-3

The monotony of farming in all it's glory. This is actually a well made game. I just have hard time understanding why anyone would actually play this, does anyone actually farm for fun? Why would anyone play a farming game for fun, clearly I just don't get it.

If you want to be bored out of your mind, this is definitly the game for you!

Probably the most involved interesting game I have ever played, forget linear storylines written by the dev's in this game you create your own storyline.
