Fun, addicting, and a great Co-Op experience with friends, hopefully Overkill gives it as much attention as PAYDAY 2 over the next 10 years.

Starfield is an amazing game, if you’re somebody who likes Bethesda Games and their gameplay and sense of discovery, or even Mass Effect 1’s exploration of uncharted worlds, then you’ll enjoy Starfield, it does come with a few Achilles’ Heel issues which I will touch upon, but the game is an outstanding gaming experience.

Gameplay 9.5/10: The gunplay is solid and has weight to it, the guns feel different from one another, and you can even find some real antique earth weapons. Fallout 4 was the template for this game’s combat and it just works, I rather they don’t change that.

Environment design 10/10: The environment team did the best job in the game IMO, the handcrafted bases, items, suits, space ships all look downright superb, you feel like you’re in unique cities, towns, outposts, research stations, factories, colonies, and mining sites.

Ground content: 9/10: if you like Skyrim, Oblivion, Morrowind, Fallout 3/NV/4 then you will fall in love with this game’s exploration side, as I said prior, the handcrafted bases are a solid experience and outshine a lot of Skyrims repetitive caves.

Writing 7/10: This is one of Bethesda’s weak points, writing has never been their strong suit, the story and dialogue is pretty much what you expect, it’s run of the mill and has been done a million times before, a lot of the early elements are even copied from ME1, the story isn’t bad, characters are likeable and they get the job done, but you won’t bond with them like Bioware characters like Garrus or Tali.

Space combat 7/10: Don’t go into this game expecting a space sim like Star Citizen, it’s more like the space combat segments from SWTOR, the space zones are basically small boxed instances to act as a front hub for the planets, the ship combat leaves a lot to be desired and is basically an arcade shooter minigame, this is Bethesda’s first time doing doing starships, and the controls are thankfully solid, but the focus of this game is still on ground combat. And that’s fine. It’s what I wanted from Starfield.

Procedural Generation 5/10: Oh boy, now on to some of the game’s weak points, so, when you land on a planet the game basically generates 15-20km wide ‘boxes’ with Bethesda’s superb hand crafted content sprinkled throughout them, this is where a game like No Man’s Sky beats the snot out of Starfield, and the way the algorithm litters stuff throughout the planets really breaks your suspension of disbelief. It doesn’t feel real, and if you go up to a high enough elevation, you can even see the outline of the ‘boxy area’ around you. It looks bad, but it’s easily ignored, just try not to focus on it and you’ll be fine. The resource gathering and wildlife is ripped directly from No Man’s Sky, and it’s basically what you were expecting, pull out of your mining laser and collect rocks and scan minerals, animals and plants, enough said.

Inventory System 3/10: Okay, so if there is one thing bad about Starfield, it is it’s inventory system, it’s just as bad as Mass Effect Andromeda. And I have no idea why Bethesda decided to do it this way when they have done great inventory systems in TES and Fallout series. So basically, you have to manually cycle through menus when bartering, you have to change it between you, your starship, and the vendor, items are buried underneath several clicks, and you can only see one inventory at once, they really should have just imported Fallout’s inventory system over to Starfield, because this is probably the worst thing in the game so far, it makes selling items a chore, and you’ll be doing it a lot early on in the game since your first vessel has a small cargo hold. The inventory menus need to be reworked via patching 100%. It’s the only real bad thing in the game.

My overall rating is 9/10.

Overall I’m really enjoying Starfield, it is a great game with just a couple poor design choices, but outside of the inventory menus, the weaker sides of the game are easily ignored, the meat and bones is Bethesda’s hand crafted content, and as long as you focus on that you’re going to love the game.

Unfortunately for Bethesda Baldur’s Gate 3 came out last month and that game gets a 10/10 and Game of the Year from me, so I don’t believe Bethesda will beat out Larian for GOTY. But Starfield and Zelda TotK are probably the best runner up titles to come out this year after BG3. Starfield has me pumped for Bethesda’s future titles, imagine an Elder Scrolls game set across all of Tamriel with perfected procedural generation and AI technology.

This game is a masterpiece, in many ways it even surpasses the original. Capcom knows how to make remakes the right way. I'm simply in love with RE4 <3

The original Rome Total War is my favorite Total War title and it has been since it came out in 2004, the franchise is still good but there is something special about the older games, the issues that the original Rome Total War did have though such as a lack of a squalor cap have all been fixed as it was in Medieval 2, if you don't prefer these updates, you can freely turn them off if you wish!

The Battle Camera uses the current Total War style level of freedom of movement and control and it is IMMENSELY superior to the original camera from 04'. The engine runs exactly the same and it doesn't use post Empire Total War's Warscape engine. Everything that has been improved have all been quality of life improvements. This is how a remastered edition SHOULD be done.

10/10 classic title IMHO, a must buy if you haven't played an OG Total War game or even if you're an older fan from back in the day like myself. I really hope Creative Assembly remasters Medieval 2: Total War in the near future as well.

Cyberpunk 2077 is a solid game, everything I expected from CD Projeckt Red, it's fun, enjoyable, and downright sucks you into it's world. It's like living this person's life with them the entire way. Much like the Persona games in a way.

The only downsides I can think of right now, are some weird bugs which aren't game breaking but are numerous. The combat is good and feels satisfying enough, but it certainly gives a "studios first FPS" kinda vibe. It's CDPR's first FPS and it feels like it, that's not to say the combat isn't good, it is good. but don't going into it thinking it's going to be as smooth as Halo, Call of Duty, Counter Strike, Rainbow Six or even Borderlands. If sequels come out to this game, expect them to refine the combat much like how Mass Effect 1 progressed onto Mass Effect 3, Bioware had to evolve the gameplay and flow of combat. The grenade throwing over cover and corners need A LOT of work too.

The only other thing is that story wise, it's exceptional, but the locations kinda have that "a lot of samey caves in Skyrim" sort of feel to them after 10 or so hours of playing it. A lot of the game is: Enter a small building, kill some people, go to a computer desk with credit chips on it, enter a small building, kill some people, go to a computer desk with credit chips on it, enter a small building, kill some people go to a computer desk with credit chips on it. The game feels somewhat repetitive in it's gameplay flow outside the story, bright side is unlike Skyrim, Cyberpunk 2077's locations do have the aesthetics to make each location feel a little different than the last one, even if they all function the same.

9/10 for me. A solid game, I think it's sequel will be much better though, CDPR's just stepped into this genre of games, after they get a little bit more experience under their belt in FPS design this series will go far, VERY far. Perhaps this is the next Mass Effect.

Early-Access-Rezension
Finished Early Access yesterday, game is a ton of fun, combat is well balanced with the current classes and the game isn't too difficult on classic if you know what You're doing and run an organized and well balanced team. I would however, love to see a return of the six member party system from BG1/2 and Icewind Dale, although I know Larian prefers 4 man parties, I find it limits the total amount of options to you.

I would like to see some more original content carried over from the original games, as it stands in Early Access, nobody (not even the Baalspawn or Serevok) are in the game or even mentioned for that matter, perhaps this will be shown in the full release.

Bugs are numerous but that is to be expected for an Early Access title. Nothing too game breaking outside the AI scripting error that causes the game to stop responding (requiring a restart).

Overall, Larian did a good job, I would give it a 9/10 so far, the original titles are still my preferred, but this is a welcome addition to the saga overall. I would love to see more content to expand this game further in the future. If we could get a mod for a six man party system and campaign remakes or the original BG games in BG3's engine, that would be dope.

Rockstar has done it again, RDR2 is one of the best single player experiences that have come out this decade, many of the initial bugs that were on the Rockstar Launcher release have been fixed. So now is a good time to pick this gem up.

I hope one day we can get the first Red Dead Redemption on PC, in the form of a remake/remastered edition.
