Decided to retry this with II coming out and have given up (again). Bugs still present after two years. Awful optimisation. 60fps hard-capped on an engine that should be able to pull 144fps easily. Far too many missions far too dependent on RNG for effortless success or total failure. Within that RNG, too few checks and balances. Glaring balance issues that were never addressed. A frustrating and limiting points system that means you always end up deploying the same ecombination of ships over and over again. The missions where you have to rely on the pathetic AI are godawful exercises in frustration. Complete lack of explanation of key game elements.

As much as I love the WH40k universe, I can't be bothered to fight my way through the low-effort grind of a campaign, and certainly won't be buying the sequel if this is the kind of effort they put in to fixing the problems with the first game.

Always-on DRM, poor campaign, slow resource generation meaning games take unecessarily long, needless complexity that adds nothing. Worst of the DoW games by a long shot.

In a market already bloated with terrible storefronts that try to trap you into a producers ecosystem, Uplay really is outstanding as the worst pile of ♥♥♥♥ that stopped you from playing the game you just bought since Windows Live. Why they persist in peddling this awful, buggy, reviled mess is beyond me.

Awful tutorials, no help whatsoever in-game, useless UI, slow, boring, waste of money.
