Прошло уже 5 лет, волос на голове поубавилось, бока приросли, а мир изменился навсегда.
Неизменно одно - стратегий нет, но мы держимся, и как нельзя кстати все эти 5 лет нас радует Hearts of Iron 4.
На старте - слабоватый, оказуаленный продукт, в котором нечего делать 80% времени, лишенный половины фич предшественницы. Ни финансовых ресурсов, ни шпионажа, ни ленд лизов, экспедиционных корпусов. Оказывается, чтобы в современном мире получить то же самое что и в 3 части, нужно платить, причем каждый год, за разномастные DLC.
И это стоило делать, потому что сейчас ХОИ, наверное, самый доступный вариант вовлечения в стратегический жанр для новичков и отрада для дедов. Не сильно перегруженный деталями на старте, он достаточно комплексный на момент 2021 года, возвращены почти все особенности трешки, осталось только допилить экономику. Все остальное крайне удобно организовано, снабжение теперь может реально перевернуть ход кампании, военные перевороты, кастомный дизайн бронетехники, а главное комьюнити с горой модов, от невероятно тупых до гигантов на 10гб, перетряхивающих все основы геймплея.
Словом, если стратегии это ваше, то неясно, почему она до сих пор не куплена.

Печально но факт - игра, вышедшая в 2007 году, 13 лет спустя выглядит и играется лучше любых 1-2 RTS нынешних лет. Баланс, дизайн UI, юнитов, сюжет и атмосферность, все то что сейчас мертвый жанр не способен их себя выдавить.
А ведь когда то она получила скромные 75 из 100 и считалась чуть ли не провалом, а в наши играется как настоящий шедевр.

NOT AN "ORIGINAL GAME".

Spintires was initially developed by 1 person, and after unfortunate collaboration with publisher (Ooovoo) things gone wrong. Publisher prohibited all the updates and changes that dev wanted and promised to make. They've stolen the title, literally.

So if you wish to support person, who made this outstanding, beautiful and realistic project possible -
Buy Mudrunner, it is his true, original game, which has its future with updated and DLCs.

Ooovoo attempt to change the game's name to cheat playes is just... Disghusting.

Of course it feels visually outdated even for 2006, and you barely can play this... but do you think someone would remember new "SW BF2" after 10 years?

Perfect buy for a warm rewind of your school memories.

To start with, this game is amazing.
And of course I'll try to tell you why, and convince you to try Soma too(Huxley easter egg, wooohoo)
Personally I was not expected anything interesting, innovative and heartbraking in new "Amnesia style game". And the first time, the things were going straight to the refund.
But the plot, breathtaking atmosphere and brilliant level design made me forget about it. Just give this game a 1 hour chance to be gripped.

Cons:

- Outdated graphics.
- Sometimes it is Amnesia with clasic of hide&seek.
- Spoiler Endings could have been more diverse.

Regional

- Awful russian subtitles.

Pros:

- Brilliant storyline, true ode to transumanism
- Awesome atmosphere.
- Perfect levels and style in general.
- It is still creepy in apropriate moments.

Overall:

For everyone who loves thoughtful and thrilling gameplay, it is a must-have.

No patch can save this heresy. Since Beta, nothing has changed - same slow gameplay with fast acid-paced battles, lanes and lack of atmosphere.
It is really sad to say, that one of the best RTS series lives its hard times. But I hope that publishers would let the developers to make a new DOW game, according to fan's desires, not global gernre trends.

I cant believe it, but... This is the case when all of my predictions about this game were right.
When I asked community "Whats the difference between Day of Infamy and Day of Defeat\Insurgency", they satrt explaining something about atmosphere and historical accuracy, teamplay and so on.
Total bull*hit.

In fact, this is DoD. They even licensed some maps, brought some Insurgency mechanics... and thats it.

Pros:

Fancy menu and art design.
Rare weapons, such as Fg.42 are here.
Different unlockable camos of the famous divisions, according to maps(yes, it is prohibited to reconquer Bastogne in italian front camo, thats great)

Cons(Spoiler-everything else):

Low-scale battles. It was ok for Insurgency, because it fits modren combat style, CQC, bearded marines and you know, all this stuff. But for me, this 10vs 10 battles in WW2 setting look hilarious, and outdated, remembering DoD in 2008.
Boring gameplay. Too fast to feel realism, too slow to be CS-like shooter.
Ruined atmosphere. You dont feel WW2 because of previous reasons.
France and Italy again. Yeah, damn me, again this villages, CAFE-RESTAURANTE, and fields. Boring as hell.
Awful graphics - guys, it is 2017. I think making a game on 2004 year engine is a... scam or misrespect to players.
Sound - on the same level. They even did not try, I guess. Placed fart instead of shooting for every gun. Airstrike sound is childish.
Poor optimisation! Wow, stop, really? Yeah, squad system is not working properly in menus, long loading screens there, not in game(lol). For 2 hours of gameplay it even crashed once.

The thing I can't understand is how this "masterpiece" got such a good revievs. Probably from old Day of Defeat fans and nostalgy.
Dont believe propaganda - Its not a game about WW2. For the atmosphere, good sound which tears off your ears and breathtaking assaults - buy RO2 or Rising Storm: Vietnam. Theese are games about war.
