The only thing that kept me coming back was the drip-feed of new content, but the devs have overplayed their hand. Now instead of adding new cars periodically for players that already paid $100, you'll have to buy their insanely priced DLC. Definitely not buying FM8 if petty swindling is the new business model.

The more you play this game, the more you realize that basic gameplay elements like exploring, combat, crafting, and building are all massive time-sinks that bring any enjoyment to a grinding halt. In Minecraft, materials are often specific to a certain biome, which encourages the player to explore. The same can be said of Valheim. The difference lies in the fact that in Minecraft you can jump on a horse and be in a different biome in a matter of seconds or minutes, often encountering interesting things along the way. In Valheim, heading to a biome outside the starting island requires jumping in a ship and sailing a ridiculous amount of time through open water (often greater than 30 minutes depending on the random wind direction, and that doesn't include the voyage back home) just to load up your ship with the necessary materials and go back. This also doesn't include the time to process those materials, or the time to farm the materials to facilitate processing those materials. This would largely be addressed by the already available teleportation mechanic, were it not for the fact that some materials (the ones that are biome specific) can't be teleported, forcing you to waste the maximum amount of time. I am convinced that the developers have stretched 10 hours of actual gameplay into a game that requires 100+ hours to complete.

The multiplayer sucks, but that's okay because the game is more fun IN SOLITARY

Pretty good as a dlc for dishonored 2, not really a standalone game though. Worth playing through for the story
