War on the sea is a very interesting game with a good concept in mind. While I have spent a good number of hours into this game it lacks any kind of replayability altogether as what can you do is very limited. There are people that do make mods for this game to improve and give you that missing aspect of being able to start over and try something new.

The game overall is OK, while you can take control of naval vessels and aircraft in this game. it's very micromanagement heavy and the UI doesn't help with that at all. having to switch between every unit one at a time and give them one specific order instead of being able to select multiple to do so, it's really annoying and tedious to have to do that over and over again constantly.

Same with aircraft and anti aircraft guns, the aircraft gameplay is really bland and you're very limited to what they can do. It's just point A to point B with a chance that they survive while doing any kind of damage. My one gripe about Anti aircraft fire is the small caliber guns, While I do understand that they can't hit targets far out like some secondary guns, there is variety of multiple caliber guns (20mm, 25mm, 40mm guns etc.) and how effective they are are certain ranges. The only AA we have in game is long range AA and short range AA, there is no in between which I feel is a must because by the time the short range AA start engaging is practically too late to avoid any aircraft coming to bomb your ships and I feel like mid range anti air would make AA more effective if not more entertaining

The vehicles models in game, while somewhat decent lack individuality. what I mean by this is how certain weapons are grouped together. on some battleships where they have multiple secondary guns along the side of the hull, if one gun were to get hit and damaged, the remaining secondary guns stop working because they are grouped into a single compartment and it seriously reduces your damage output on that ship. Same with how every ship is a copy and paste of one another, it would be nice is some ships of the same class have some AA guns in one spot while others don't (all while keeping the same number of AA guns in total). I feel it would add more life and unique aspect that each ship is different in a way.

As for the engagements, it's very predictable and super easy to cheese especially with how small the combat area is, it's super easy to pinpoint where the enemy is how set up an ambush to blast them in less than five minutes. I feel like it would be better if the engagement areas were much larger with a super rough estimate of where the enemy location is, therefore forcing you to take a risk of being shot at first without ever seeing them. An actual fog of war.

I do enjoy this game but it's just lacking a gigantic load of potential to become something really great. There is so much more that can be done in terms of QOL, a complete overhaul of the sound design, Improve on the vehicle models and make damage more visible and consistent, small details that people will enjoy and praise the game on. I do hope this game does improve because this game has an insane amount of potential as there few naval combat games that are like this one in terms of variety and scale.
