The game the 40K universe needed, and we got it.

The price is a bit too high for the content at launch, but more will be added for free and the quality is there, so it's fine. Not a big or at all 40K fan? Get it on sale.

Also, please read the system requirements. It clearly states that you NEED an SSD, not that it's recommended. Runs perfectly fine, with a couple of locations as exceptions, where I had surprisingly high dips in FPS for a few moments.

UPDATE
I wish they would stop trying to "fix" the difficulties, but at least they listen when they make mistakes.

Overall better than the first, but still needs to be modernized.
The story is pretty good, although some quests' solutions I discovered by mistake rather than logic. The graphics, sound, gameplay (especially combat) are better than in DD1. The performance is weird. Well over 100 FPS everywhere almost maxed out, but in the biggest town and some weird locations? 60-70 FPS and stuttering AF, most of the time, not always.

The inventory management still sucks... Oh, and ♥♥♥♥ escort quests.

Expected it to be a side project or a meme game. How is this so polished? An auto shooter with milestones, side objectives, rock and stone? Yes, please!

Needs more flanking boats.
But yeah, great auto-battler PVP game with short matches.

Decent game, but it's not revolutionizing anything. If this took 10 years to make, then they would need another 10 years to add everything else it's missing. What's needed is the NMS treatment. I would recommend getting on a sale unless you're starving for a space game, which Starfield isn't much of one. I'll give it a 7/10, so I guess it's a thumbs up...

  • The only thing that I actually found great so far is the ship building, but even that is limited. Not enough options. You can do quite a lot, but as much as I hoped.
  • You spend 5% of the time in space, 95% of the time scanning and exploring planets, talking to NPC or following them around with the usual "they walk faster than you walk, run slower than you do" gimmick.
  • No vehicles whatsoever for planet exploration, but at least there's an auto-walk button...
  • You can only land your ship, but not fly on the surface. Landing is automatic, and to change the location you just fast travel to another spot.
  • One of the worst menus I've ever seen. You can't filter missions by location, to store something on your ship it's not enough to just open your inventory and select "store". You get on your ship, press a button to open the ship's inventory, switch back to your inventory, and only then can you transfer items. You press F to open the scanner, you then press G to open the local map. One time, I forgot to press F and ended up throwing a grenade in the middle of the city. That's just a few of examples...

I'm glad I didn't pay 100$ for it. Got it for "free" with my 1.000$ GPU. Yay...

Looks better than most games of this "genre?". Also, you can and should reduce the special effects of your skills to actually see the enemies...

Postal service simulator... but with ghosts. The Director's Cut is the same game, but better, because you can shoot people's packages with a cannon.

Also...

Great game. I still need to defeat the final boss, the Lord of Stuttering.
Actually, I'll take it back.
Elden (Stutte)Ring is a 10/10 game!

Do you know what happens when in a RNG heavy game the enemies get stronger while your characters get nerfed? Repentance launches.

A lot of work went into this DLC. It added quite a lot of new enemies and bosses, environments and items. The problem is too much work went into it. Repentance should have just added more stuff and leave it at that. Instead, a lot of the old "run success assured" items got nerfed, along with a few mechanics as well. Brimstone does less damage, The Maw no longer gives black hearts, Epic Fetus stayed the same, but can only be found in secret rooms. Then, batteries no longer drop as room end rewards, less chances of finding any sort of hearts on Hard. You're thinking it's Hard so that's fine, except it's not.

Devil Deals are more or less pointless now because, if you somehow manage to take an alternate route, kill the boss and not get hit, the items are in a vast majority of cases not worth their price in hearts anymore. For instance, since launch I have yet to find a single flight item, and that's mainly due to the new variety of items. Some of them are interesting, some are some sort of combination between already existing items or a variation of them, but "interesting" and "cool" items don't help you that much when the new enemies and bosses have larger amounts of health, while you're doing "cool" and "interesting" things with your tears and bombs.

Repentance is a very good DLC, but I only wish I started playing it now and not have seen what it was like before, when I could actually find broken builds that made it fun while I was just doing a casual run with no particular goal. Now I just find myself restarting the first floor a bunch of times until I find something sort of promising that helps me get to the new content.

Edit:
Ok, I think it's time to change it to a positive review since there's no neutral. While I am still a bit disappointed that some of my toys were nerfed, I keep finding new combos and old items that got buffed.

Before Repentance, a Devil Deal was worth it 2 / 3 times. Now I have to think twice before taking anything, not just because of the nerfs, but because of the new enemies and bosses. If I don't have enough defensive items to help out with the occasional hit, I usually just end up skipping the first Devil Deal or second Devil Deal and try going for the God Rooms.

Until I get more used to the new attacks, it seems that having a lot of hearts is a better choice than before, when I could just roll bosses with 3-4 hearts and not worry one bit. I still find it an issue accessing the new content, which require certain items from starting from the first floor, but yes, the game is way more balanced now.

TL:DR
New players: Just get the complete pack. It's the best experience in Binding of Isaac and it's not that expensive compared to most games.

Old players: You should probably read the list of changes to items to not get caught by surprise or, better yet, be prepared to rediscover the game and try new things. You may be surprised by new combos.
