Oracles of ancient times were ALWAYS depicted and illustrated with a veil.
Besides it’s obvious representation of being able to see through “the other side” of reality’s veil, it also served a specific function.
They used the veils to cover their faces while channeling deities and gods because those entities were known to jump into other people, if they made eye contact with the oracle.
The veil was to keep others safe, and to keep the entity contained within them.
