This review is long overdue... so lets begin I guess. The core gameplay of Dying Light 2 is fun, the story was actually pretty good which surprised me, and I like the fact you can have multiple endings. (Bloody Ties dlc is utter garbage). There are some things that are missing from the first game, for example the guns which I don't mind at all, the hand to hand combat and the parkour are pretty satisfying but... there are other issues when it comes to the multiplayer part of the game. Its still full of annoying bugs, the most notorious one is the dreaded cabinet glitch where one player can get stuck inside one particular safehouse and the only option is to rollback their save game(sometimes the coop partner can glitch them out but come on Techland, its a launch day bug thats still in the game). The enemies often get stuck under the map thus you need to reload the game(the same goes with bugged elevator doors,windows etc). However, the biggest issue for me is that there is still no text chat in multiplayer, despite many people have been asking for it, not everyone has a microphone or a voice for that matter. They added some visual filters so the city is not so bright, the game keeps getting big updates which are rather good than bad its definitely a good direction, but they still need to fix a lot in the game, especially in the multiplayer part, so for that reason my rating is only 7/ 10. The game does not worth full price at its current state for sure. Do I recommend this game? Sure, it does look beautiful, it runs well, its definitely fun, but I wish it'd be a better experience in coop as well.
**Just a quick update, as of 2023 November ,after the Community update #3 there are more viral variants and more good changes, but the most important of them all is that the text chat is now finally in the game, so the score went up to 7.5/10**
As of 2024 the guns update turned the game into a whole new experience, with other quality changes and so much stuff has been added, Techland is finally heading into the right direction ( its a bit sad these features took them 2 years but better late than never)
