First of all I'd like to say that I'm kinda sad that Dying Light 2 turned out as it did.
I played through all of it in Co-op and did have a lot of fun, sadly most of the fun didn't come from the game but rather the bugs we experienced and how bad some of them were.

All in all it's been a nice experience gameplay wise, but to be honest, the story really started getting bland and looked more like "basic fodder" after getting to the 2nd area of the game. Towards the end it even felt rushed as in "We just need to complete the story somehow, so let's get it over with".

We had to restart our games a stupid amount of times to get simple things working again (i.e. opening a door that required all players). This also happened twice in the final story mission which really hurt the experience (as one would expect), but the cherry on top of it all was that during the FINAL CUTSCENE both non-host players (Me and a Friend in that case), had our games crash which would've locked us out from actually seeing the End if it weren't for the ability to stream via Discord.

But I'd rather end on a positive note:
The way Techland managed to salvage DL2 after it being handed around for a few years is quite impressive.
Even though it must've hurt the game quite a lot.
The RPG touch-up has done this game atleast some justice in my opinion. The skilltrees are somewhat well thought out, even though there were some abilities my friends and I just deemed straight up useless or some abilities that use the same keybind (i.e. 'Drop Kick' and 'Far Jump', with one stopping momentum and one granting it).

Pros

- Movement feels great (most of the time)
- Nice gadget additions (i.e. 'Paraglider' and the "new" Grappling Hook )
- Can be Co-oped through almost all of the way (only the Tutorial needs to be soloed)
- Nice feeling of progression in terms of upgrades through gear and weapons
- A few funny sidequests

Cons

- Co-op has quite a few gamebreaking bugs as of writing this review
- The main story becomes rather bland rather quickly
- Building interiors are recycled a LOT especially in the first area of the game
- Bad keybinds that are hardcoded (can luckily be changed via a mod)
- The second area seems to be quite unoptimised in terms of perfomance (on an RTX 3070 at 1440p with medium details and no RT, i had some severe perfomance hits every now and then)
- The map is merely a suggestion, as we'd just walk around parts of the "map" that weren't marked at all
- The end is more or less just the typical "She's my daughter, and I'd do everything to save her, even if that means killing everybody else!"
