The only way I know to do emotes is to go into the console, type 'act' then the emote you want to do.

For example, ' act dance ' will do a dance.
Here's a list of emotes you can do.

dance
muscle
robot
wave
salute
bow
laugh
pers
cheer
agree
disagree
zombie
halt
group
forward
becon
