before videogames they blamed action movies, heavy metal and punk, comics and fantasy and crime novels
Tyler Glawi 30 May, 2015 @ 7:02am
There was plenty of violence before video games. The American Revolution, the Civil War, World War 1 and 2, etc..

i think video games don`t cause violence, just your lifestyle
StarNukem 4 Apr, 2015 @ 4:07pm
Well put. :) Feel free to spread the word of this group to your friends Xanadu :)
Xanadu 4 Apr, 2015 @ 2:12pm
The notion that video games cause violence is total crap. Heck I think games like Doom and Blood are the reason I'm NOT violent.
SirWolf 24 Mar, 2015 @ 12:47pm
Ah your parents are not thinking clearly, Kamerad. You can learn basic things about guns just by playing those games! Then you can move on to actually using them, trying them out. Then to get a license for using a gun for defense, which we need very badly these days. Winter is coming! (LOL I mean, the number of crimes are rising in my prediction.)
StarNukem 14 Mar, 2015 @ 6:47pm
Thank you :) Feel free to invite your friends in as well

Kyra_The_Hydra 14 Mar, 2015 @ 2:11am
my parents dont allow me to play shooter games, cuz I turn "agressive" then... T_T
StarNukem 13 Mar, 2015 @ 6:52pm
But did Doom cause that? Or were the students psychotic Hitler worshipers?
(Just to make a point lol)
HP 13 Mar, 2015 @ 6:41pm

Just hearing a lot about GTA V controversies and woman activists blabbing their mouths and then I thought, Steam should have a group like this to prove a major point that video games don't cause violence. Maybe one day, (wishful thinking lol) when an activist steps up to an audience and starts crying about video game controversy again, this community will have an impact on that person's whole argument. Again, wishful thinking but it's nice to have a "home for the choir I'm preaching to". :)
Owlet VII 8 Mar, 2015 @ 1:26pm
I wonder what event broke the camel's back and made you create this group?
StarNukem 8 Mar, 2015 @ 1:24pm
Video games cause this, video games cause that, it's not gonna end as long as those activists who haven't played a video game since Atari 2600 exist lol.
Owlet VII 8 Mar, 2015 @ 1:23pm
I haven't heard the argument that vidya makes people violent in years, actually. Haven't people surpassed it and moved to the "videogames make you sexist" argument?
SirWolf 8 Mar, 2015 @ 1:11pm
Yeah it's one of those lies from people they call themselves "experts" we gamers have to suffer from. I'm a very peacefully behaving man in real life, with no intention to change that. When I play games, I play it for fun, and stress releaving.

Let's see how this group will manage.
StarNukem 8 Mar, 2015 @ 11:50am
I agree with him too, but why can't we make a nice group out of this?
Dennis Stamp 7 Mar, 2015 @ 11:39pm
Owlet VII took the words out of my mouth: This is preaching to the choir. The boneheads who pass legislation limiting the sale of viideo games don't go on Steam. Still, maybe we can get some good discussions going.
StarNukem 6 Mar, 2015 @ 4:51pm
Believe me I know that, but I want to make a point to the world about this.
Owlet VII 6 Mar, 2015 @ 4:07pm
I fully agree with this, but creating such a group on Steam is preaching to the choir. Everybody here plays vidya.
StarNukem 6 Mar, 2015 @ 3:01pm
Yup, this is my page! I want to spread word of this to everyone who is in agreement!
Der Übermensch 6 Mar, 2015 @ 2:09pm
Oh wait you own this group zerg?
