In God We Trust!

Recently it was stated that America is not a Christian nation! Some people who are American citizens are offended by the idea of us being a Christian nation, while others would rather die than give up this fact. It is an issue that we cannot afford to ignore.

Let us look at the facts. America is very different today than it was two hundred years ago. Back then, government officials had a deep since of religious loyalty. They placed their faith in God above all else. If you do not believe that, then I suggest you look at all the state constitutions. Every one of them makes their religious loyalty clear.

Now, instead of religious loyalty, government officials only seem to be concerned with political correctness. The general thought is that anything that "steps on someone's toes" is unacceptable. The founding fathers would have thought that this was ridiculous. If they had only been concerned with what was politically correct, we would still be paying taxes to Great Britain.

People have taken the idea of freedom too far. Americans are no longer content with the freedoms our forefathers provided for us. They are now opening up to any and every idea that someone comes up with. Our policy now is total religious freedom: if it has to do with a religious belief, then it is permissible. This is a very dangerous policy. Some religions contain beliefs which state that any one who is not of that religion . . . must die. Therefore, if we maintain our policy of total religious freedom, then we must indulge these beliefs as well. Thus, murder would be okay as long as it was motivated by religion. I may be wrong, but this line of thought seems to have some problems. Even if we were mentally unstable enough to accept this idea, what do we do when someone wants to stay alive? Do they not have the freedom to make that choice? These two different desires clash. One person wants to kill someone for religious reasons, the other wants to stay alive. Both people have rights under our current law system. How should the government deal with this situation?

Throughout history, leaders have been the decision makers. Our government has decided to not decide. They have made up their minds to not make up their minds about anything. To say it more plainly: our government has chosen to let others make the decisions for them.

This nation was not only founded as a Christian nation, but it is God who has kept our borders safe for over two centuries. If we stop giving God the credit for the protection that He has provided us with for so long, then He will lift His mighty hand of protection away from our country. I do not ask that you watch me take this stand, but that you take this stand with me. We have got to get America back to God!
