Please post your feedback
If you don't see a discussion topic related to your feedback then you should create one. That allows other people to add their own related comments.

The best feedback you can give is based off your first reactions to the feature. What did you see; what do you expect; and then what actually happened. You don’t need to worry about thinking about how different users may react or interpret something, your direct reaction is what we need to know. This applies equally to code bugs, design bugs, usability issues or just missing features. If there is a specific page then including the url can be very helpful so we know what you’re talking about.

Another helpful piece of feedback after using the site is to post a ‘highs and lows’ list. This is a list of what your high points of using the site were (discovering a feature you thought was cool) and low points (it took me a while to find how to get to page X, page Y was broken, I wanted to do Z but couldn’t, etc).

Though we may not be able to respond to everyone, we do read and appreciate all of your posts. Thanks!

I know custom themes exist, and that the UI might be revamped based on the size of the avatar in the chat window, but the current promotional image for chat box UI uses even more verticle screen space than the existing one does now http://media.steampowered.com/steamcommunity/public/updates/tradingcards/07.png?v=2

It just looks a huge waste having another break to report Steam Level. This is fine enough to check on someones user profile.

Considering that I have about 10,000 hours in Steam games to date, I don't like that my Steam level would start at zero. Before the beta has started, that's my main feedback.

First hearing about trading cards, I thought it would carry all the baggage and irritation that regular trading does, having items in Steam as a whole that a few people obsessively spend their time trying to lockdown and hoard.

However, seeing that they're all pieces of a set, equal in value removed that dread from me, making trading just a nice casual "Need/Got". Maybe as more games are added some cards will become more or less in value, which I really hope isn't what happens. I'd probably give up on in entirely once people start saying "No, this card is worth like 5 TF2 cards!"

The new Steam community features are nice, though. Giving achievements more visibility is good. I just hope that with the levels people don't become too elitist, but I think that would only really apply to games.

I'm not able to unlock the new additions to the Pillar of Community badge.

Just expanding, I've tried being in the client beta and not, and restarted steam numerous times, also tried to do multiple different ones, I've sent a few emotions and voted on a few greenlight games

Fantastic, love it. Just one concern with the badge 'Year of Service' The Date/Year is missing on my profile.

While I think the Trading Cards idea is good, I don't really think the Steam profiles need a new update. I'm sorry to say this, but it seems like you've gone for the "YouTube path", and changing layouts to confusing ones. In my honest opinion the old one suited better with the new Steam community. I'm going to list a few things regarding this update:
The Good
-New trading card feature which can be fun
-New badges
The Bad
-Too much show-off of achievements and gameplay with less space dedicated to the profile itself
-Levels (is Steam seriously turning into some kind of RPG? And was it even necessary?)
The Ugly
-New profile layout, which makes Steam Groups, comments and friends look less important than games.

I seriously dislike the idea of putting friends and comments in the background. I understand you're trying to improve Steam, but this looks more like a useless downgrade than an actually useful upgrade.

TL;DR: Trading cards are fine, but the new profile is just wrong.

Well,at this moment, all what I can say,it's what profile look very nice.Wait what going after
Duckus6 15 May, 2013 @ 12:21pm
I think that the profile maybe a bit of walking into the darkness since steam as far as communities go is not well know but the apart from that I think will be a all roung good thing.

One thing that I have noticed is that the UI is quite slow to load. Other then that, it seems to work well.

EDIT 1: More feedback! One thing that I noticed is that I have made a status and I have sent chat messages with emoticons yet the Pillar of Community badge does not upgrade. That could be related to the servers being under load but it does create a problem.

EDIT 2: I think there should be a tab in Steam that is the Trading Card tab under community or profile or something like that because the Badges tab seems somewhat lacking. There also it little to no explanation on how to get Cards. I think that if there was more of a notice on how to get them it would be better.

EDIT 3: Now my pillar is updating.

Disapointed. The community page doesn't benefit from it; just gets filled with more junk and loses functionality. Can't even get to my inventory any more without scrolling. The emoticons in the chat are a huge no. The trading card pages are way too huge and not . There's way too much focus on badges and level, which imo should just be removed completely, just like the emoticons. If you really want to do levels, at least link it to stuff like games owned/time played/achievements and guides written or something similar.

I really dislike the badges. OCD just kicks in and makes me regret not getting more achievements in the pasts. Specially as I didnt have TF2 during the treasure hunt and therefore didn't redeem my hat. Missed out on that, then badges came and missed out on it as well even though I did plenty of challenges for the 2nd tier hat. And now it hurts even more. Not being able to get the badges of the events again and max my level makes me want to cry and quit Steam.

TL;DR: Steam loses functionality and gets filled with more crap

It looks pretty cool and also an extra incentive to play the selected games and to buy them if i don't own them. Would love an invite.... please
Add to my game library
