Sudden Attack (Korean: 서든 어택) is a free-to-play online multiplayer first-person shooter developed by South Korean company GameHi (currently Nexon GT) and released in 2005 through Netmarble.[2] ] It is considered South Korea's most popular game of its kind.[3][4] It was distributed in Brazil by Level Up! Games in Portuguese version, officially launched on November 11, 2011 and discontinued on November 9, 2015. After starting open service in 2005, Sudden Attack reached the top of popular Korean games in shortly. Whereas before FPS games were mostly played by "addicts", Sudden Attack has made the genre popular, with one in four people signing up as a user. Services to operate the game in China and Japan started in 2006. Japan has a strong market for console games. There was no market for online games, especially in the FPS genre. However, Sudden Attack established the "Online FPS" genre in Japan, and was the first of its kind.[9] It was later expanded to Taiwan, Southeast Asia, North America, Brazil, Latin America and Turkey.
