GPU is not being used at all
Please help. I'm sorry if this is not the right place for this but idk what to do.

i was away from my laptop for about half a week. when i got back i saw that nvidia had a update. the problem is even after the update my games won't use my gpu.

i use msi afterburner to monitor my temps and only my cpu temps go up (and they go up to 90C & 100C) while my GPU sits at ~5% being used (and ~60%) which doesn't change no matter what I do.

i have updated the driver and checked for updates in windows. i also checked nvidia control panel and windows graphics, they both say that almost everything should use my gpu, but they don't.

laptop: gigabyte G5 KF

os: windows 11 pro 23H2

cpu: i5 12500 H

gpu: RTX 4060 laptop

Also idk if it matters but the c drive is 91% full, it's an 500g ssd

I recently dealt with this problem, i had to go into graphics on my bios and set the pcie as primary for me cause thats what i plugged it in, if thats normal and set correctly and still having a problem, certain games will not be registered by the "Graphics" settings in windows and you will have to manually add the game and then set it for your graphics card to detect it and use it instead, some newer cpu and gpus will piggyback off eachother to make them hyper perform and boost efficency

Ahh yeah I forgot, well that’s the only way I know how I fixed it, my minecraft wasn’t registering as a noticeable game so that’s why I had to manually add it in the windows graphics setting but idk what else you could do, when I was doing research someone told me graphics card could be installed wrongly but you are on a laptop so I really don’t have a clue, sorry
