how can I forcefully play my own game

Just set up the Steam family beta and I found out that I can't play my own game if someone in the family is playing it at the time and I haven't found out a way to kick them out either.

Is there any way, no matter how hacky, for me to forcefully kick them out of the game so I can play the game myself?

Short answer, no. There is no owner preference anymore in Steam Families.
If a license is currently in use you have to wait till that user is finished with their game session.
If its a game you are currently often playing you can set it to "private" in your Steam library which will remove the license from the Family Share pool as long as its active.
