Set as away = the little phone icon thats says im online on the phone.
Set as online = nothing.
Tried restarting steam and the steam chat app. Dont have the app open and I never use the old app anymore, because its really outdated by now (so it have to be the new app that does this).
It doesnt help to log out of the steam chat app for me either.
Thanks for contacting Steam Support.
When you're logged in to Steam Chat on your mobile device, and you mark yourself as away or snooze on your Steam desktop client, this will show you as also being logged in to mobile - which is that mobile icon next to your name. By default, you're always signed in to chat on your mobile device if you use the Steam Chat app on your phone.
You can prevent this from showing by signing out of the Steam Chat app on your phone. To do so, follow these instructions:
1) Open the Steam Chat app on your phone.
2) Click the Menu button on the top left of the app's screen.
3) Here, either select Invisible, or the sign out option.
This should prevent the mobile icon from showing up when you select away or snooze on your Steam desktop client. Please note that it may take some time to properly update on your desktop client once you sign out of the mobile app.
If you have any further questions, please let us know - we will be happy to assist you.
