Early Access Build (Alpha-1.0.2757) now up
  • Changed version to Alpha 1.0.2575 - This is the version that will go on sale tomorrow, March 1st
  • Fixed rounding error in FPS display, so no more "61 FPS"
  • Big sweep over game content. Ship tiles should drop wreckage consisting of the correct metal type
  • Crystal asteroids (Kelorite etc) no longer drop rock, but instead have a chance to drop appropriate crystal powder
  • Fixed missing tooltips and some layering
  • "Mouse Up" events on UI buttions should register better
  • AI movement should be smoother now when switching players
  • You can no longer tractor other player controlled objects (MP only). This caused a whole bunch of problems which are now fixed.
  • Fixed a bunch of internal errors with tractoring
  • AI now makes better use of their thrusters
  • AI should be more responsive in MP
  • Turned off default networkinfo and ship info. Still available in "F5" menu
  • Added a bunch of tooltips that were missing from options menu
  • Added "/allowdamage" toggle to disable damage being dealt (via collision or weapons). Requires Cheats on.
  • /Playerlist now works for local client instead of displaying it only on the server host's chat
  • Increased Providence's health
  • A player switching to another ship/station should now deactivate weapons and engines of previous ship
  • Tile Repair messages are sent only to players in the same region now
  • Closing (or via death/warp) inventory/manufacturing with items still in Input will now trigger those items to be placed in your inventory, if no space, then dropped in space
  • Added toggle for screenshake in video options
  • Fixed placement midpoints on several objects
  • Added new art for certain ship kits, redid the "Fire Torpedoes" art and new art for torpedo projectiles and torpedo launchers
  • When playing in MP, AI should behave better when first warping into a region with a player already present
  • Fixed cargo container icons
  • Added Ion Engine Mk 1 recipe that was accidentally excluded
  • Added recipes for turning Reinforced Roll back into sheets
  • Substantially changed power consumption on beam weapons, and changed reactor energy pools and recharge rates
  • Pioneer Refit 3 now has the correct number of weapon slots (3 instead of 2)
  • Asteroids from previous regions should no longer appear in the current region
  • Fixed an issue in MP where another players should would sometimes be moved when another player warped into same region

Known Issues
  • Phantom asteroids may appear, but much less frequently
  • AI may occasionally not stop for you even if they probably should
  • Upon warping or respawning after ship loss, "item pickup" sounds are heard
  • In MP, joining the game of a friend who recently disconnected from your game will result in you connecting to an inescapable menu. For now, ensure you do not join a game from Friends List unless you know for sure it's running.

Fixes/Changes/Updates (In no particular order)
  • Fixed several paperdoll issues.
  • Fixed fading sounds incorrectly being played
  • Fixed large rock planetoid being incorrect size
  • Did a pass on all planetoids, they should now all be correctly spawning, with the correct tile drops
  • AI should now keep a better count of players in each region, so multiplayer should have more "honest" AI
  • Fixed a nasty bug when you delete all universes and are still able to try to load one
  • Fixed UI button issue where buttons trying to do stuff although they shouldn't be doing it
  • Paperdoll now displays missing tiles more distinctly
  • Fixed manufacturing recipe bug. Scrollbar should now be usable
  • Cleaned up missing/broken/not quite ready templates and game data from game directory
  • Shuttle now has no weapon slots, and should no longer break the paperdoll
  • Significantly rewrite to ship and station wreck generation. Should get more interesting outcome. Should no longer get duplicate chunks. Wreck loot generation still potentially buggy.
  • Updated wreck loot table. No more "empty" or "missing" items should drop. We're going to move this over to a separate file soon.
  • Reduced a bunch of log prints, so game start up should be 1-2s faster
  • Multiplayer password now should work. Servers with passwords set should reject players with incorrect passwords. Passwords only work on manual join, not Steam invites/joins (On the list todo)
  • Multiplayer game sessions are hardcapped at 4 max players. Singleplayer game sessions are capped at 1. This means players should not be able to join your game if you're playing singleplayer (even if they see the option on Steam).
  • Fixed a bug on tooltips for multi object tooltips creating errors
  • Only local player is flagged as Admin for now. Will add whitelist in the future. So even commands that require /cheats 1, some will only work for an Admin.
  • Rebalanced engines. Removed non Ion Engines for the time being. Those will be reintroduced in a future update. All ships should now be a tad bit slower by default, but have plenty of room for upgrades.
  • Several higher level manufacturing recipes now need appropriately higher lab versions.
  • Added ship refits for all Explorer Union ships. Recipes should be available as well.
  • Added "Max FPS" option to Video Settings. Current options are "Unlimited", "30FPS", "60FPS" and "144FPS". This is the target FPS for the game, and is not a guarantee. If left at Unlimited FPS, game stutter may feel more noticeable.
  • Updated several tooltips for English language file.
  • Added credits button to main menu
  • Removed date from version label. This is to make it visuall less clunky as well as date is no longer really an issue as we have an accurate version to keep track of.
  • Fixed icons on star system map from being highlighted when they shouldn't be
  • Tradesman turns slower now
  • Removed "Advanced System Options" from create game. They weren't really doing anything.

Known Issues
  • Phantom Asteroids
  • Positions of objects being tractored isn't always perfect
  • AI (especially in multiplayer) sometimes doesn't do anything until attacked
  • Some ship types won't drop any tile loot on tile death
