Yeah, I haven't updated any drivers or run optimizers yet though - so I'm pretty sure that I can fix it. However "fresh install" = Crash. (Seemingly)
I don't mind - I never play L4D2. :D

I installed Win 8 on my desktop today - L4D2 indeed crashed - L4D(1) works flawlessly.

I dont get any error reports ot messages from Windows.
I have GChrome, VLC player, steam, thats pretty mutch all i have!
Im trying to install latest driver.
Intel CPU, Nvida GPU.
I dont have any antivirus and i didnt't had it on W7.

I think ReApEr is right - it's probably a driver problem or something. Did you recently run an optimizer as well? Like CCleaner? Or Advanced System Care?

Also it could very well be an Antivirus/Firewall-thing, you might want to re-install some stuff like that - 90% sure it's something like that.

Are you receiving a error-report or any other messages by windows?
Is it just closing or is it a "freeze", or blackscreen..etc.. ?
Have you installed (and running) any other applications, like iTunes, xfire, fraps... ?
Latest drivers installed? Nvidia, Intel, AMD ?
I´m just asking for all those things because i want to check if it´s similar to mine..

No, i havent had a crash in l4d2 with windows 8!
But i have some in Total War: Shogun 2 !!!
Seems that Windows 8 is, well, a bit like Vista o.O

Do u have game crash with Windows 8??
I have had Widows 8 for 3 days now and i have allready had 3 crash in L4D2.
I never had a crash with Windows 7.
Have you had any crash if u har using windows 8 yet?

Just to clear something up: The Avatar music I made has nothing do to with James Cameron or 20th Century Fox :D Something has been terribly misunderstood. It's just a personal project. But the tribute is nonetheless ready (5 tracks in total and 2½ months of work). Check it here:

AND HE JUST KEEPS GOING! I feel this is an accomplishment in light of the fact that he not just has he kept this streak going, but he no longer has Steam installed on his computer.
