How to Register

To register for this tournament, you must have Magic: The Gathering 2013 on Steam and you must complete the following steps.

1) Join this group.

2) Leave a comment below containing your chosen Steam name that you'll use for the tournament.

3) Also include your chosen deck in the comment.

4) Check back on the 22nd March for the tournament brackets!

Information and Rules

This is a single elimination tournament. Brackets will be posted on the 22nd of March where you will be assigned your opponents. You will have 72 hours to complete a first-to-three (best of 5) match against your opponent and report the result. If neither player reports a result within 72 hours both players will be disqualified.

(Recording screenshots after each match is recommended incase of disputes).

- The brackets will be updated regularly and a new opponent will be assigned to you. You will have a maximum of 72 hours after the first deadline to play against each new opponent.

- You may only play with one deck throughout the tournament. State this deck when you register.

- All decks and all unlocks are allowed.

- Sideboarding between games is permitted.

- Using over 70 cards in your deck is not permitted.

Will there be Prizes?

The winner will receive 3 deck unlock keys OR 1 deck pack of their choice.

The decision stands as we've moved on to the round 2 & 3 matches already. You guys should leave feedback here for my next tournament as to whether you think the 72 hours per game deadline is fine or if you think it isn't enough time for you to arrange a match. Bear in mind for this tournament (so far) it's been more like 100 hours as I released the brackets a day early. =)

Hey, Saltkin and I just had our matches today. I'm not sure if it can still count or not, but I'll report the results anyway. I took games two, four, and five, he took games one and three.

@Shidoshi - Not everyone signed up via the forums, so that idea wouldn't be viable for this tournament.

Brackets Update -

- Disqualifying players Saltkin and iiAyJayo.

- Allowing ZyZo to advance over LouisHaarp as ZyZo contacted me several times, was active and made multiple attempts to arrange a game. LouisHaarp was online occassionally but generally inactive during the 72 hours.

For my next tournament i'll kindly request that players should not sign up unless they are going to be active during the 72 hour match periods. :)

You'd probably get better communication had you made everyone use a single thread in the forums. Using the Steam community thingy makes this much more hidden and obscure.

Sorry the signups are closed!! I'll increase the amount of players i'll let in for the next tournament though =)
As for this one, I needed the number of entrants to be a square number to avoid having to give people free wins when doing the brackets. Seeing as there's a small prize it'd be a bit unfair if one person got a free pass on the first round and only had to play 3 games to win, where others would need to win 4 games.
