Yes, the server has undergone the change to Left 4 Dead 2, yet I have not. I will not be able to see into what is going on in game, however if there is connectivity issues, let me know.

The last few attempts at playing Left 4 Dead have resulted in me entering a lobby and waiting 40 minutes, then leaving the game to play something else. The lack of players combined with the release of Left 4 Dead 2 has me searching for a reason to keep the server. I could change it over to a Left 4 Dead 2 server, but I have not plans on buying Left 4 Dead 2. To be honest, even if it was given to me, I would likely not play it (more than the couple hours of "Oh, thanks"). I have tried the demo, and didn't enjoy it.Although, there has been one exception of me not liking a demo, then enjoying the game, this would most likely not be the case. The demo was far to laid back.

Anyways, I may be in chat for a little bit. Tell me how I am wrong, and need to switch to Left 4 Dead 2.

Play Left 4 Dead with the Chase4Dead mod and low gravity. It may not be an option much longer if you don't go for it now...
