Stuck in loading using android 12
Greetings,

Note: I already sent a support ticket and they told me to ask here instead.

I'm trying to connect a Motorola Edge 20 (XT2143-1) running android 12 to a laptop using the Steam Link app but the smartphone screen stays black except for the "TIP" at the bottom of the screen and the loading icon spinning.

Computer details:
Model: HP Pavillion Laptop 15-cw0xxx
Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 2500U
Graphics: Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx 2.00 GHz
OS: Windows 10 Home Single Language 64 bits
OS version and Build: 21H2 - 19044.2006
RAM: 12GB (1x‎8GB DDR4 2400 SODIMM 1.2V, 1x4‎GB DDR4 2400 SODIMM 1.2V)

The issue only occurs with the Motorola Edge 20, I installed the Steam Link app on a Motorola Moto G6 Plus and a Motorola Moto G8 Power and they worked fine without changing any settings on the smartphones or the host computer.

If I had to guess I'd say it's likely to be an issue with the video streaming component because when I changed the video option on the Steam Link app to "No Video" the Edge 20 finished loading and I was able use the smartphone as a controller, but if I enable the video again it won't even show the controller overlay.

So far I've tried the following on the computer:
- Unpairing all the devices and pairing the Edge 20 again
- Enabling and disabling hardware encoding: unchecking all the sub-options (NVIDIA, AMD, Intel) and just checking the AMD option.
- Changing the number of software encoding threads from Automatic to 8.
- Enabling and disabling "Change desktop resolution to match streaming client".
- Enabling and disabling "Dynamically adjust capture resolution to improve performance".
- Rebooting the host computer.
- Adding the UDP and TCP ports to the firewall.
- Disabling the firewall.
- Making sure that Wi-Fi client isolation is disabled.
- Changing the resolution on the laptop to 1366x768, 1280x720, 1024x768, 800x600.
- Checking for driver updates using the windows "Device Administrator" as well as the PC manufacturer's diagnostics tool.
- Running Steam as Administrator.
- Cleaning the Browser cache.
- Minimizing big picture mode when the app is stuck on the loading screen.
- Enabling and disabling the steam overlay.

So far I've tried the following on the Edge 20 / Steam Link app:
- Changing the video option to Fast
- Changing the video option to Balanced
- Changing the resolution limit to 1080p, to Display Resolution, to 480p, to 720p.
- Changing the framerate limit to 60 fps, to 30 fps, to Automatic.
- Enabling and disabling HEVC Video.
- Rebooting the Edge 20
- Changing the refresh rate on the android settings from 60Hz to 144Hz to Automatic.
- Adding and removing Steam Link from the list of apps allowed to use the Full screen mode.
- Launching a game by tapping the game icon on the Steam Link screen after launching the game in the computer.
- Using the beta version of the Steam Link.

Additional possible solutions attempted:
- Connecting both devices to a 5Ghz Wi-Fi network.
- Connecting the Edge 20 to the laptop using the laptop as a hotspot.

In between each setting change I restarted both the Steam Link app and Steam on the computer.
I have also tried mixing the possible solutions described above but I honestly can't recall all the variations that I tried.

Is there anything else that I could try?

Thank you!

I'm having the same problem right now I'm trying to do a fresh driver install on the host PC to see if I can fix this but I doubt it will do anything lol
