Today I want to leave you a little review about the economy and life simulation Tropico. It is now about the first part of the Tropico series. (Containing 6 parts at the time of the review).

Basically, the player takes on the role of "El Presidente", the head of state of a small republic during the Cold War era. The player tries to get his luck as a dictator, his people, economy, tourism, military and economy under one roof.
Successfully maintaining his rule for decades and improving the island nation. However, this is not really superfluous as easy, since there are so many difficulties in the way. Speaking of one special feature of the game, namely that you don't really control or steer the inhabitants, you only try to influence them through certain methods. Thus, although the game is already a few years old, it will be very complex. Since the islanders as well as the tourists all have their own will and their own needs, there is also a great replay value and a different gameplay (despite the same settings in the menu).

The game therefore has hundreds of hours of fun, real challenges and great complexity. What I would like to address is the black humor that is simply present throughout the game. Absolutely amazing.

The next point would be the now naturally outdated graphics. Personally, I can get used to it, but there are certainly some who no longer see each other and get a headache from the pixels. I would simply recommend a newer title in the series to them.

Music, sounds and sayings are great.

Personal conclusion:

For one or the other, Tropico may have aged badly because the graphics are sometimes a headache, but I think that's the way it is, because it's old and after a few hours as El Presidente you get used to it and it doesn't bother you either more really. The game is a blast in my opinion. There is a lot of joke built in, which makes the whole ruling a lot more pleasant. For an old game, I find it very complex and the degree of difficulty can be quite demanding at one point or another. The random events are adjustable, which is also very nice. In summary: If you can overlook the graphic or get along with it, it will have dozens of hours of building / economic and dictator fun of a paradise. Super classic!
