Welcome to the Steam Community Market Group!

The Community Market is designed to expand the Steam Economy beyond trading. Players can now buy and sell in-game items with other players for Steam Wallet funds.

The beta is starting with Team Fortress 2 and will be available to other titles on Steam in the New Year.

We'll be making tweaks during the beta period, so please send us your feedback!

Relaxed Confirmation Requirements

We shipped a change earlier today to reduce the number of cases confirmation is required to list an item on the market. Items that typically sell for under $1.00 USD will no longer require confirmation when the list price is reasonably within the median price, but confirmation will still be required once many of those cheaper items are listed. Confirmation will still be required on all rare and valuable items.

We'll be watching for any problems with this change, and make adjustments if needed.

We've updated the Steam Community Market with some more changes:

All Steam Trading Cards, Emoticons, Booster Packs, and Profile Backgrounds now appear as commodities, with its easier method of purchasing and improved data display.
There is now a 'recent activity' display for these items, which shows buy & sell activity that has occurred in the last few seconds. Only a sample of the activity it shown, and only users who have their community profile set to public are shown.
There is a Buy & Sell Order graph (added yesterday) at the bottom of the page for commodity items, that expands on the data shown under the 'buy' and 'sell' buttons higher on the page.

You can leave feedback or bug reports regarding these changes in the Steam Community Market group discussions.
