Buy orders repeatedly disappearing when trying to sell
Was trying to sell an emoticon on the market.

There were several buy orders for that item. A few low priced and a few much higher priced. Number of transactions on that item is very low. Only a few transactions per month at best.

Everytime I tried to sell my item for the highest listed value, that buy order disappeared and my item was listed normally as being on sale.

So I cancelled that sale order and put it back on the market for the next lower price.

Immediately after doing so, that next buy order disappeared as well. Again, having my item listed as on sale.

Tried this again a few times until all those high buy orders disappeared and only the low buy orders remained listed.

Have put it back on sale for a higher value, so no idea if any of these lower offers would have worked. Anyone an idea of what's going on there?

Had the same thing, idk what it is
Big Necro on this thread, but it's currently happening again with a CS:GO knife I'm trying to sell.
I'm guessing the people don't have enough funds anymore to buy it?
But even then, the buy orders coming in aren't older than 1 day, since I'm watching the prices this whole weekend..

Had the same repeatedly for the same item (uncommon trading card, very low transaction rate).

Never figured this out. Seems to just happen once in a while.

I'm having the same thing happen to me. I pushed the buy offer price on one item down like 20 buck because I kept trying to quicksell it. Every time I tried to sell it for the current offered price, the offer just disappeared.
Very frustrating

This is still happening as of May, 2023 with a csgo skin I was trying to quick sell. Still a mystery.

Been trying to sell a skin and this is happening to me as well. Tanked the buy order price down 200 euros from what the lowest was originally.

Did a little digging, it seems you can (for some reason) create buy orders ten times the amount you have on your steam wallet. So when you list an item at a buy order that doesn't have the cash, the buy order just gets lowered. Why this is even a feature is beyond me.

I wonder if there are may alternatives. I mean, if you forbid making buy orders higher than your wallet content, you could still make an order and then buy a game... Deleting and maybe even recreating the orders depending on your current wallet doesn't seem to be to useful either. So... they chose some way.

But yes, of course I'm here because it's irritating. :D
