If you've been following the trend for the past few minutes, you might have noticed that Cave Story+ is released. If not, then let this be news for you.

If you are residing in the US or the UK, you should be able to purchase the game today. Just search for it in the Steam Store and it will be the first thing that shows up.

On a side note, the game will be sold at 15% off during the first week of release.

In case you missed it, Nicalis has announced that all work on Cave Story+ for the Steam release is done, and will be available on Steam to both Windows and Mac platforms very soon.

It's expected to share the same features and upgrades from the Cave Story Wii PAL release, plus some Windows/Mac exclusive features. But will it have achievements? Who knows.

No release date has been given, but it is expected to be out in the coming days/weeks, so keep your eyes peeled if you're looking forward to it!

Courtesy of Nintendo Life, they have done a review on Cave Story 3D, with a very impressive score of 9 out of 10. And you know what? Not many games get that kind of score in their reviews, so it really is something to be partying over about.

And don't forget, the game is due out in November, the biggest* month of the year.

Cave Story+, in the vibe of Cave Story Wii, has been released today for the Mac OSX by Nicalis today. Similar to the WiiWare release, Cave Story+ employs the same graphical and audio enhancements from the Wii version, plus several bonus features not included in the original version of Cave Story. A PC release on Steam will also follow.

Keep in mind, though, you can still obtain the Mac port of the original version of Cave Story at cavestory.org for free.

Cave Story+ is available on the Apple Mac App Store for $9.99.
