THE STARGATE CARTER PACK

Stargate Carter Pack more commonly known as Carter’s Addon Pack or CAP is an addon for Garry’s mod that adds new content elements to the game, all based off the Stargate franchise from the 1994 film to the late Stargate Universe. Carter’s Addon Pack gives the most impressive array of Stargate elements for Garry’s Mod, allowing much more diversity & variations for Stargate gameplay in Garry’s Mod.

CAP (Carter’s Addon Pack) covers many themes and aspects from the Stargate franchise, such as Tauri technology, Lantean technology, Asgard technology and many others, Together with their weapons and devices which often became a threat or even powerful assets to the people of Stargate Command, Atlantis and Destiny.

From piloting starships to building bases, the Stargate Carter Pack provides players with great replayability, creativity and much much more!

The future and end of CAP!

The winning logo
First of all we need to thank everyone who participated in our little design contest for a new logo of CAP, and with this we'd happily say that we really liked the logo created by Ivan of Spades with it's simplicity yet quite powerful look and feel of the Stargate universe.

However as we intended to switch the winning logo for the official logo we'd sadly have to announce the following news.

The future of CAP
After many years, where lots of talented people came together to make this addon possible, where others supported the addon in their own way, by donating and assisting with the forums, we sadly need to announce that of this day the Carter Addon Pack's team will be disbanded.

Alex our main coder and pretty much the life extender of CAP: who joined after the main team's coders had left, made amazing updates and improvements to the addon.
Announces that he's in a very difficult situation and does not finds the time to work on any updates in the future anymore.

With this happening we also made the following decision for the future of CAP and a general Stargate addon for Garry's Mod that our content may of today be remixed, transformed or build upon to make adaptations of CAP or make a complete new Stargate Addon that builds upon our addon. The whole addon will as of today be licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License.

You are free to:

Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format
Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material

Under the following terms:

Attribution — You must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. You may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses you or your use.

NonCommercial — You may not use the material for commercial purposes.

ShareAlike — If you remix, transform, or build upon the material, you must distribute your contributions under the same license as the original.

Closure

Even for the current remaining people in the team it is still quite hard to swallow this news, as it was still a very long road to get where we are today. But real world events and other things eventually takes more priority which makes a hobby creation like this impossible to maintain forever.

While we will probably stay active on the forums, and update from time to time, the actual development will be postponed until further notice.

So for everyone and we really mean everyone who played, supported and enjoyed CAP all these years we really need to Thank You! As without you, we would never have gotten this far!

Deletion of 2282 Inactive members!

Today we deleted a whopping 2282 inactive user accounts from our database, a lot of these accounts were spambots that registered with our old inferior registration system but couldn't do more than that as all default functions besides registering were disabled and the only main focus was the Forum which they probably didn't know how to post/spam in (good for us).

Now with the recent registration/login page update we also managed to make it more secure to register so we probably experience less bot accounts being made.

However the deletion of all these accounts was done automatically by a third party plugin and we didn't check one by one if these accounts were actually legit other than filtering them on how many forum posts they made.

Like mentioned in our previous warning about this deletion, in case your account got removed you're free to re-register on this site and use the forum to your likings but just make sure if you register that you'll be using your account!

We're currently down to 265 active members which is still a lot so thank you for understanding and in case there is any kind of problems feel free to inform us about it.
