You can't map the guide button but you can map anything to any button while holding the guide button to access these features go to> settings then> controller then >guide button cord layout>edit

so i can map the guide button to any button on my rog ally and once i do this it will bring up big picture mode

holding the guide button will then acts like another layer on your controller to bind anything to any botton 2nd "LAYER"

also firstly make sure you enable steam input for either rog ally (if it shows up) or enable steam input for generic controllers in settings.

You would do it like this for a controller, so see if the same thing applies for the Ally.

If you're already in BP mode, and if the touch screen functions there, could touch Menu in bottom left corner. If it doesn't, could instead press B to 'back out' to menu.
Then select Settings > Controller > Test Device Inputs [Begin Test] > Setup Device Inputs

(It's a similar thing if Steam was in desktop mode:
Steam > Settings > Controller > and so on...)

You'll get the option to bind something Steam will treat as Home/Guide in that process.


I've read of a different solution though. In Armory Crate you get the option to set something as the Xbox button. If pressing it opens the Xbox Game Bar, you'd disable 'Open Xbox Game Bar using the Xbox button on a controller' from the game bars Settings > Shortcuts.
Guess this method depends if you use the game bar or not. Think you could work around it by mapping something in Armory Crate that performs the keyboard shortcut that opens the game bar (I don't know how the Armory Crate works, so just assuming that would be possible)

well all i need is the steam keyboard so i can type my name in game, rog ally doesnt have a dedicated home button, i was looking yesterday in the chord and it said open big picture mode i binded that to my rog ally but its not the right one it just opens big picture mode, i want the guide bind where if im ingame it does "shift + tab"
