Auto Audio Switch (Big Picture Audio Switcher)
Hey guys,

As an update to my previous app "Big Picture Auto Switcher", I introduce the far more flexible "Auto Audio Switch".

To get it to work, open the program and go to "Create". Set the Profile Name to whatever you want ("Steam Big Picture" or something). Select the Audio Device from the drop down list and click "Add" to add it to the profile. Under Conditions, select "Preset -> Steam Big Picture". Set default volume and schedule if you wish.

Once saved, create a new profile called "Default". Pick your default audio device from the drop down and make sure Conditions is set to default.

This will now auto switch when Big Picture is detected.

The program can do many other things (different volumes at different times of the day, switching to headphones instead of TV at night time, switching to Headset when TeamSpeak is open, etc).

Things to note about the program...it goes through the profiles in order that they are listed. So if two profiles are valid, it will use the first one it finds. Use this to prioritise various profiles (Right click to move up and down). If an Audio Device is not found, then the profile will be skipped. This means if you disconnect your TV, the Big Picture profile will skip and run on your normal audio device.

This version is a beta. It works, but there may be a few bugs. All feedback is appreciated!

Thanks for releasing this. I've been looking for something similar for a while now. Unfortunately, I couldn't get it to work. When I try launching the program I get the following error message:
"Could not find a part of the path 'C:\[path to extracted files]\AutoDeviceSwitch 0.1\Plugins'."
I tried creating an empty "Plugins" folder in the main one, which allowed the program to launch, however the "Preset" menu under Conditions does not contain any items. Any idea what could be causing this?

Sorry, yeah, I forgot to package that folder. Silly me.

Try redownloading now, should work!

I have managed to set up my profiles using the new version, but the program crashes whenever I launch big picture mode. The last entry in the log files states it tried switching audio devices. I'm running a fairly new 64 bit Windows 10 installation. The only other program managing audio devices is the Realtek HD Audio Manager but disabling that didn't fix the problem. I had similar problems using your "Big Picture Auto Switcher" program as well, so it might be a hardware incompatibility issue.

Hmm, strange. Can you post the log? There might be something I can do about it.

Nothing after that? It should have a fatal exception after it crashes. Check a different log?
Vlad 11 Jun, 2016 @ 5:19am
All logs are the same. The program simply stops working after trying to switch. To put things into context: I'm trying to switch from my front I/O (stereo headphones) to my rear I/O (analogue 5.1 speakers). Other programs also have problems with this setup so it's most likely a driver issue. Reinstalling the drivers didn't help however.

Ah, sorry to hear that then :/

Not sure if I can do anything to help.

I'm getting the following error at startup:

An attempt was made to load an assembly from a network location which would have caused the assembly to be sandboxed in previous versions of the .NET Framework.
This release of the .NET Framework does not enable CAS policy by default, so this load may be dangerous.
If this load is not intended to sandbox the assembly, please enable the loadFromRemoteSources switch. See http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=155569 for more information.

(.NET Framework 4.5.2 and 4.6)

Strange, it shouldn't be loading any assemblies over a network. Are you running it on a local hard disk?

Yes. Maybe the tool itself is considered to be from a network location? At first start, I've got a SmartScreen warning from Windows, which I ignored. (Windows 10)

I just noticed, the tool runs as long as I don't close the error dialog. But I get a NullReferenceException after clicking on Create.

I'll have a look into it and see if there's anything I can do from my end
Gubbel 22 Jun, 2016 @ 9:57am
Any updates? =)

Or can you open source it?
