can't figure out how to change password
I'm sorry if this is somewhere on a faq. I looked but it's like trying to read a foreign language. I just dont' udnerstand this stuff. The program worked perfectly before. But I changed my Steam password due to the recent scare of malware or phishing or whatever it was. So now the program can't log in. I did look at some info and stuff, tried to download the latest version but can't figure out what to do. I'm sorry. I'm not technically minded. and I'm old (middle aged, but old in the gaming world!)

If you're using latest ASF version then simply download latest ASF-ConfigGenerator from GitHub, launch it, switch to your bot, and change your SteamPassword appropriately to a new one. Then close CG, open ASF, enter 2FA/other stuff (if needed), and everything should work like before.

You can also go to config folder and edit bot.json . There is a field called password where your old password is located.

"SteamPassword": "XXXXXXXXX",

Ok thanks I think I got it working. There's one game that says it has card drops but the game isn't out yet so it won't drop those. But it signed in and everything so hopefully it will keep working. Thank you so much for having patience with this old frog!

hello, same situation as author of the thread, and this worked (w/o needing to dl CG, as stated by the user of the first reply), tysm! (for those who don't know: since it's a .json file, in windows, it can be opened using notepad, then after changing the pw, open asf again, and 2fa if your account has)

Might have something to do with the fact that the original answer was posted more than 8 years ago :bite:
