Hey guys! After posting the previous announcement, I decided to read on my latest messages. And guess what I saw...

Another two of my friends are victims of this phishing faze. 20 minutes apart.
Below are screenshots of the 2 Steam Chats and it's plain brutality.

Now, as it says in the title, I ask of you to stop letting people add you on TF2 Outpost. Backpack.tf. CSGO Lounge. Every single trading website. But unless you can't help yourself, reduce yourself from having to ask people to add you. Instead, use your trade offer link, you can find it here.

Going by what I came across yesterday, Steam Guard does not protect your account or valuable inventory items.
If someone messages you telling you to
- hi add my friend he interest trade with you,but he cant add you (steam error)
-hi,can you add me in my trade account (link)
because i can not add you,steam write(steam error)
- Look at these screenshots (link to rar file) (Archive containing .scr files which are executable and can install a trojan horse on your machine.

Don't just click the link they send you. that is most likely a phishing link.
People I talked to said the hijackers also send the link to phishing sites to people on the friends list of hijacked accounts.

Also, Steam Guard supposedly makes you wait a few days after you log in from a new location, so at least your items are safe, right? WRONG.
Yesterday tells me that anything is up for grabs once you've logged in and given a Steam Guard code to the phishing site that is usually unbelievably close to the original.
These scamming scumlords probably have spread trojan horses on many users' PCs which they can log in from. If that comrpomised PC is near you, you might mistake the IP address in the email from Steam Guard with the code as your own. There is a 'Verify Login Location' link in those. USE IT.
I talked to someone from the USA who was phished and did get a login attempt from Italy and his items were still stolen, so I don't know what's going on exactly.

* A guide on how to get hijacked items back (According to this post, Steam have changed their policy on that and do not return items anymore. Citation needed.)
* Links to real Steam sites are opened inside the client. If you get a profile link via Steam chat and opens outside Steam, it's definitely a phishing site. (Scammers might find a way around this, but that's valid for the time being.)
* If you log in to Steam via your browser, there are a couple of ways to verify that you're on the real site. You can only log in to Steam via an encrypted connection (https) and your browser should tell you who the website belongs to. The flag at the end comes from the browser addon Flagfox for the browser Mozilla Firefox[www.mozilla.org]. Many phishing sites are hosted on Russian or Ukrainian servers, so until phishers find US-based hosting companies who don't ban them for life, this help you realize that something is not right.
* Set a PIN to access any account features via Family sharing, as explained on Reddit. If a hijacker can't access your inventory, he can't steal items. (The PIN only has 4 digits, but it's better than nothing.)
* When you are asked to re-authorize Steam Guard, think hard. Is that really necessary? Try visiting a page on Steam from your browser history first. That should be only necessary after you've made some drastic changes, like deleting all your cookies, install a new browser (profile) or move.
* If you are asked to re-authorize Steam Guard, there is a "Verify login location" in the email. It is in big letters. And bold. Use it! If there's any unexplained discrepancies of your location and the login's location, do not enter your Steam Guard code!
* Report the profile that sent you the phishing link to Steam. Click "More" on the top right of their profile, then click "Report Violation," "Suspected Hijacker or Phishing" and copy and paste the chat log in there.
* Report the phishing site to Google, so that other users are warned that it's a phishing site.
* If you want to the extra mile, you can shut down the phishing site. Go to domainwhitepages[domainwhitepages.com], enter the phishing link and you'll get Whois[en.wikipedia.org] information for the domain and the server where the phishing site is located. Look for an "abuse" email address for both and email them the relevant information.

More general tips:
* If you are offered a good deal for an unusual, check the owner and item history out first. Threads on the Steamrep forum and the history on TF2Outpost's or Backpack.tf's backpack pages. A Level 1 account that's free2play on top which offers you 3 unusuals? That can't be right. You better ask for some serious proof that he got the items legitimately. Don't be that greedy. Scammers want to move their stolen items fast, so they offer too-good-to-be-true kind of trades. Do not let them.
* Do not recycle your passwords. Consider a password manager like Keepass

For joing this group, you're telling Steam and Valve to eliminate scammers and phishers around the world, and telling Steam and Valve to heighten it's security.

No matter how many times I tell people, there are people who fall for these traps and low life scums turn out to profit from these events.
