The invaders from another empire, led by theMarquise de Cat. Industrializing, forceful,opportunistic, and pragmatic.The Marquisate is, at heart, a foreign power comefrom far-off Le Monde de Cat to conquer the Woodland. But it grows more tied to the Woodlandeach day. It builds new structures across controlledclearings; it recruits new soldiers and agents directlyfrom ruled denizens; and it forces the culture ofthe Marquisate upon the Woodland, even as theMarquisate itself changes to adapt.The core goal of the Marquisate remains whatit has always been—to control the Woodland asanother holding of Le Monde, a base from whichthe Marquise can further her ambitions. But as itadds new members to its ranks, its goals are drawntowards establishing order, industry, and prosperityin the Woodland.
