Steins;Gate (シュタインズ ゲート, Shutainzu Gēto)

Steins;Gate is an upcoming Japanese Xbox 360 game based on the same titled visual novel. The game is currently in development by 5pb. and Nitroplus and slated to be released on October 15, 2009.

Setting and themes
Steins;Gate will be set one year after the events that took place in Chaos;Head and will primarily take in Akihabara. According to Chiyomaru Shikura, Akihabara was chosen because of a strong presence of electronics which leads to an abundant availability of different goods and parts, making it the ideal place for people interested in inventing and tinkering things. Time and the concept of time travel will be the primary driver behind the plot.

Development
Prior to the game's announcement, a teaser site was featured on 5pb.'s website which simply referred to the game as Project S;G and noted that it was going to be a collaboration between 5pb. and Nitroplus. This was not the first time that a second collaborative project was in the works between 5pb. and Nitroplus as Nitroplus's website had hinted at this on its 10th anniversary website. Chaos;Head's producer, Tatsuya Matsuhara, noted that the game would be centred around Akihabara and that the project with Nitroplus would be the second part in a series around the theme Science Novels
(科学ノベル, Kagaku Noberu). On June 12, 2009, the countdown expired and the name Steins;Gate was revealed.
