The whole "PeOPle juSt DoN't LikE chAngE" is an ignorant broad statement that only serves to shut down input and discussion.
I agree thatt the statement people just dont like change is a bad statement, which i why i didn't use it, but i believe steam was trying to get a deep kinda of idea with this and when it came out on full release you would still have functionality of the original search function but this was just going to be a slid in feature. If this wasn't their true purpose then sorry if i annoyed you.
That's my bad. I unfairly made the assumption you were making the whole "people don't like change" statement when you said people had been stuck with old UI for so long they were used to it. I understand what you were saying now.
I've noticed that with all the threads so far. The people who are defending Experiment 12 don't really use the old store functionality extensively.
I'd be less upset if the "new games" tab were added back, as I like to keep up to date on F2P games that way or a simple way to revert to the old layouts, but we know that Valve doesn't give those type of options, and want everyone to be on he same level.
Give us back the functionality of the old list and you can "improve" the design until your eyes bleed.
Yeah that's exactlly why i like the feature, it allways people like me to play mainstream games which are meant to great and other people think highly off. I also only have 44 games because I play shooters at a semi professional level and arent focused on many otherrs. The experiment 12 helped me discover other shooters which were a part of the main stream. In the full release of experiment 12 the community was hoping for a combination of the old and "new" experiment store.

That's fair enough I did kind of struggle finding the newer releases of games, but at the end of the steam is a business and wants to put the best games MONEY can buy in front of there customers.
I was talking about the best of both worlds. With my "hybrid" idea you could still use the old functionality but users like me who are only looking for the main stream games which people think highly of can see those games without having to dive through all the newer off stream games.
Yeah because people like you don't want to see the best of both worlds. A hybrid system would be better like you said with the "old store" option as some people like myself prefer the experiment 12 store to the old one as I usually stick to mainstream games. I do understand your points thought because its truly not for everyone and neither is the old system
