FEEDBACK NEEDED! Potentially Major Changes to Core Gameplay Loop
Hey everyone, Daimyo is looking to make some potentially major improvements to the way each round plays out on the servers and we'd like everyone's input.

One of main goals behind these changes is to keep the action moving forward during each round and avoid a lot of the gameplay slowdowns currently happening where we're waiting for everyone to get rezzed by a medic or for people to run back to the resupply point to refill that one missing magazine.

EDIT: Sgt didnt know if he could mention this (and we have to wait and see) but the next update by NWI will be focusing on bot behaviors and other coop improvements. I believe bots will defend more during non-counter attacks (instead of herding to gunfire) and create more Rainbow Six / Swat style gameplay where players will need to use good CQC tactics to clear rooms and entry-ways. So keep that in consideration when thinking about the below potentials.

Some potential ideas:

  • Have the entire team respawn when a point is captured instead of waiting for a counterattack to end.
  • Counter-attacks not always guaranteed to happen, perhaps set at a fixed chance regardless of whether there's 1 person alive or the entire team.
  • Increase the challenge of the "assault" phase where we're attacking the next point. (more bot lives, higher fatality rate from deaths)
  • Resupply would only occur on point capture/respawn, similar to how health is regained automatically.
  • Remove ability to resupply ammo at spawn points, you must push forward to next cap if you want a resupply. Additionally, medic revives would no longer resupply you either.
  • Enemies currently get one life individually, implementing a team pool of lives would ensure that the bots have a sustained amount of pressure and always have max numbers until the team pool of lives are depleted.


These changes would be oriented around moving the challenge of each round to be the push toward the next point rather than spraying a chokepoint with a hail of bullets as it currently is. These are by no means finalized ideas, this thread's purpose is to hear feedback from the community on what they think would best improve the server.
