PSA#19 Upcoming Events And FYIs

Been a minute since I've done one of these, mainly because there was nothing really worth pinging you all about. However as we go through these next few weeks some changes and possible changes are/maybe coming.

The main issue to discuss here is that barring another delay, in the next week the new Ark dlc for Genesis will release. Seeing as Valguero has some of the lowest traffic, the map has a plethora of bugs, and Ragnarok provides all of the same things. I'm opting to drop Valguero out of the cluster and insert Genesis when the time comes. Normally, there would be more of a notice for probationary periods on maps on the cluster. As we saw with the swapping out of Scorched Earth where there was a few weeks advance notice of the change. However, irl circumstances and writing this PSA slipping my mind a few times, here we are. I will be available to all who need it when not at work/irl obligations/etc. to assist and support any moves. If you don't need my help great; if you do don't hesitate to DM me. The time table on this map change would ideally be when it releases, just like I did for the conversion to Valguero from Scorched Earth. BUT, if people need time to move off server that's fine. So, don't feel like you need to get off server overnight and stay up all night moving thus ruining your next irl day. Just shoot me a message and let me know whats what. I'll be scouring all of Valguero to make sure no one gets stuff left behind, and to help with any moves.


This topic is rather large and there will be discussion thread(s) made as necessary. So, if you end up posting over there, please keep the discussion on point as there can be a lot to discuss. Back when the cluster first started there are a number of mods I added with a plethora of reasons behind why. Years later I've found that a number of them appear to be dead weight to having everyone load these mods that aren't being used. Meanwhile, there are some mods that people would like to have added in place to use. Please see the links below to the discussion threads. THIS IS BY NO MEANS FINAL, RATHER I AM OPEN TO A DISCUSSION ON THESE MODS. So, please give your two cents. You play here, you have a voice to what mods you do and don't want to play with. I reserve final say on what mods are and are not on the cluster, yes but that I does not mean that I should not listen and even adhere to what those around me would like to change.

If there was not another map after Valguero I would be looking to actively replace it with a better map that more people would enjoy. Naturally, this map would come from the Steam workshop. Thus, if you could add a map to the server which one would you choose and why? When posting your nomination in the appropriate discussion thread, please provide a link to the map you are nominating. There is no guarantee that any nomination will be added to the cluster. But in the event a map should be swapped out, or even that Genesis doesn't work out; I'd to know what people would like to have.

I can't believe it has been another year down for the cluster. Thank you all for playing and providing me the humbling reasons to continue to support this cluster. It is quite a privilege to be doing this all for you. Here's to another year on the SOS Cluster. Thank you all.
