Hello, everyone, my name is Cassandra and I'd like to thank you Tamaster for inviting me to this group. I wasn't really aware of the group before and I'm delighted to be in a group with others who share a passion for writing reviews.

I've been gaming since the late 80s. My first PC was the Apple IIe and my introduction to the world of gaming came largely in the form of text parsers. From that I grew to love PC Games especially Point & Click, Puzzle, and RPGs. I never had a console system till we got the wii for our kids (the the wiiU and then the switch). More recently I also got into VR with the Oculus Quest but, my passion still remains in PC gaming.

I got into writing reviews largely for myself. I find after I finish a game I like to record my impressions of the game. What I liked, didn't like, what was difficult or problematic. When you've been playing games for nearly 40 years sometimes you forget how you felt about a game and since I replay games from time to time reviews help me to go back and remember what it was like and whether replaying that specific game is currently worth my time.

It also helps me to push myself to actually play through all the games I own instead of just collecting them and letting them sit idle in my library. I've even set a rule for myself that I can't look at buying new games unless I've reviewed at least 75% of the games in my library (though admittedly if it's like an exceptional price at like 90% I've been known to make exceptions). This helps me ensure I play everything I buy and gives me a sense of completion about the game.

Then of course there's the aspect of helping others to make an informed purchase. I love reading reviews about games and a good review can really help me if I'm on the fence about buying it and a few have even persuaded me to try something I otherwise would probably have ignored. I like to think that what I write might also help other make good decisions and find games they will absolutely love or at least be prepared for the negative aspects of a game before getting frustrated with them.
